No? this is news to me. I thought he had nothing but good things to say about our fans.

Wanting a stadium upgrade is a different story.
He flat out said, "I don't know what kind of people you are here" when a guy held up a newspaper instead of watching the dance team

It was a lot more than that. Let's not pretend. That guy wanted to be noticed and made a huge spectacle out of it.
was he wearing rainbow colors?

The biggest thing to me is that there's absolutely silence from the people who'd normally be in the position to deny this. Nothing from Lucci, texags, local reporters, the athletic department, schloss, players or anyone else actually in the thick of it.
That's because there are all of about 6 people on this planet who know what is going on. CDC, Schloss, their agents, and their wives. Everyone else is just guessing. Everyone on twitter. Everyone at the Houston Chronical. Everyone with a booster connection. Everyone named Kendall (and I like Kendall). Everyone is just trying to read the tea leaves, and make an educated guess....but it's still a guess.

We will find out soon enough, but hanging on every word that you happen to find on twitter or wherever is a fools errand.

From reading the tealeaves, I think Schloss knew he was leaving or strongly considering it during the CWS. One college baseball analyst noted how calm Schloss appeared in the dugout throughout the games and especially during tense moments. He even joked with the on field reporter last night about scoring 17 runs. In the past Schloss would not be so relaxed and carefree. He also has gone overboard in praising the 12th Man in his interviews and said he could almost cry when talking about them. The way he was offended by Zane's question seems to suggest it got him uncomfortable with the situation. If he jnows he's staying, why would you get offensive about it. Just say I love it here and tu can go pound sand. These are not normal emotions of a coach knowing he's going to stay with the program. Just my observations and opinion..I hope I'm dead wrong.
this sounds like over analyzing

No one but schloss is in the thick of it.. Kendall doesn't know anything other then there is an offer and schloss apparently hasn't said no yet it's obvious, if del conte finishes this, it would be a coup, Kendall is right about that. But that's just common sense.

Whenever the info comes from the other side, the coach leaves.

Then why didn't Saban retire from Texas

He has been hinting at this all season long...Texags staff so asleep when they talk to him as they want inside access. Bottom line is that if he stays, we've promised the largest baseball field in the SEC and doubled all the coaches salaries, elim his resp for marketing the 'fill the seats or give your tix to someone who can come', added new traditions at baseball and maybe even add dancers at football games with the yell leaders (as he has stated should be like the basketball dancers at our football games).

All is fine, but we'll see if we think he's our guy or not (meaning, do you pacify him now and then go thru this again in a couple years?). He'll let you know that he left TCU, but didn't come to A&M because of A&M's history and tradition. He wants to plug into the dollars which is understandable.

I'd guess CDC tried convincing him they'd build a new huge stadium, and it would essentially be the professional team of Austin.
He could build whatever Schloss wants in any of the sprawling Austin suburbs, and such location would be a huge fan convenience advantage over DF. With no claim of inside information, I am guessing this is a stadium decision, not an attempted money whipping.

Schloss camp has been adamant no chance of movement unless the new ballpark project was botched. It was not.

I'll design the new ball park for free. Just keep him here.

Guys, I'm all-in on this…

- A&M send a private plane to SATX. I live 10 minutes from the airport.
- provide me 2-3 sites on campus for new stadium.
- I can bring trace and do sketches on the plane.
- we can unveil to him at the meeting tonight.

This would remind me of BCG leaving us for Kentucky, and I think it would be a mistake for Schloss. BCG had everything he wanted at A&M and was building the program with his players and doing it his way. He took his system to a basketball blue blood and it didn't work out the same.

Schlossnagle has everything here including major ballpark renovations on the way. He can accomplish everything he wants to here, and can do it exactly his way. Not to mention be the first one to do it here which I think means something to him. None of that is possible at tu. There he would get mixed up more into the politics, media fish bowl, and the arrogance/expectations of that program. He's already the most accomplished coach in our program's history, is beloved by our fan base, and can basically do no wrong here. And I assume that A&M would match any number he's offered from another program. I get that he is friends with the sip AD. We all have friends that work for other companies in other cities, but it doesn't mean we just jump from a great situation, which A&M most certainly is for Coach Schloss.

He sits on the front row behind the dugout. He makes a huge deal of pulling it out and shaking it and opening it up.

Don't act like you don't know all this.

Hoping this delay is just an attempt by Schloss to get some quicker, more serious movement on a new stadium.

Using tu as a pawn to speed up the improvement of our baseball program would be the ultimate chess vs. checkers move.

Richard Zane just took a bullet for us by asking the question. Schloss was PISSED that his loyalty to A&M could even be questioned and stormed out of the press conference

So it looks like Schloss might leave. Either (1) he was lying about coming to A&M to never take another job, or (2) the question pisses him off so much that now he is considering leaving. 2 seems unlikely since Schloss is not an emotional child, so it would seem that (if he leaves) he was just lying about coming here to never take another job. If sees us as a stepping stone, there's nothing we can do to change that. Let him go.

I really didn't think he would go. Bizarre that he would seriously consider it if the pay is similar, but to each his own.

*IF* he leaves, his presser outrage was a smokescreen "the lady doth protest too much" reaction to silence the inevitable criticism that he was negotiating a deal while coaching the most important games of his career. The backlash to that would be pointed.

Yes and what he is saying is that it looks like they are in good position. If Schloss wasn't leaving he would have made that clear, instead he danced around the issue last night and now almost the whole day has gone by and we have no assurances from a single person on our side that this is going to work out for us.

Well he did himself no personal favors either for sure. But the point of course is that the same system doesn't work everywhere. The hype, expectations, and type of players associated with KU basketball just didn't work for Billy's hard work approach. And frankly I think Schloss would find that the ugly astroturf field certainly isn't greener in Austin.
