I don't think we are trying to save Asch for tomorrow as much as we are saving him for high leverage. Schloss clearly subscribes to the idea of using the best pitcher in the toughest spot. If the situation presents today he will pitch.

Ash is warming up - hopefully he isn't needed, but he will come in to pitch. If Peery can finish this inning and maybe even get the next, I wouldn't be shocked to see Ash for 8 and 9 just to make sure we win.

This. Not sure why this is so difficult to comprehend. You don't burn your best reliever in a 9 run game if you have to play again tomorrow.
