Hoffman DFA'd by Phillies with their acquisitions today but quickly flipped to Royals.

Also it is rumored that Kent may be moving to the Giants as part of a trade.

Wasn't a save situation last night but Brandyn Garcia had a perfect 9th for the Diamondbacks. Started the year at Reno but has worked his way to the top of the BP the last 3 months.

I was actually wondering the same as Kent getting traded yesterday made me look up and see how all those guys were doing.

Looks like Cortez was promoted to AA this season but is struggling with command. 5.70 ERA, 29 K/20 BB

What's interesting is it looks like he had been a starter throughout his entire time in the minors up until getting promoted to AA.

Brandyn Garcia came into a 2-2 game in the 7th against the Dodgers. Bases loaded,one out and Ohtani coming to the plate. He got him to hit into a double play.

Uh oh. Then he came out for the 8th and gave up a 450 foot HR. That notwithstanding he's been the Diamondbacks best reliever.

Ohtani gives Garcia a double play and Shewmake a homerun. Maybe he shouldn't go up against Aggies anymore!

Diamondbacks DFA'd Paul Sewald who had been the closer until a really bad stretch recently. Brandyn Garcia has gotten the last 2 save opportunities. He's been in 39 games with 13 holds, 3 saves and a 2.08 ERA. He's got a great opportunity in front of him.

Garcia with a perfect 9th inning. Opponents are hitting .178 off him in 40 games. I was at the Diamondbacks game today and he's really becoming a fan favorite here.

One of the guys I was with today is a real baseball nerd and said to me....your guy is just clowning them.
