Jeff Kent's son assigned by the Giants to Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League. Season starts October 3. If you ever find yourself in Phoenix in October and first half of November it's great baseball cheap.

I think this will be the league's 39th year and all but one MVP during that time has played here in the fall. Last year Braden, Dettmer Will Johnston, etc played.

Wacha is listed as the probable starter for KC vs the Astros in Houston tomorrow.

It's been a struggle for Braden Montgomery lately. Since July 31 he's hitting. 181 in 39 games. They've dropped him down to the 9 hole and hopefully he'll pick it up this last 2 weeks of the season.

Lamkin and Kent are the only Aggies I've seen on the rosters so far but as they're released I'll see if others are playing.

2 scoreless innings for Brandyn Garcia. The guy has been phenomenal this season. BMont really struggling. Hitting .179 since July 31 and .105 in September.

They're playing in the PCL Championship this week and early next week. He had been at Midland with Will Johnston. I got to see them both in the fall league last year. I'll be wearing Aggie gear this fall when I go watch Jeff Kent's son and Lamkin.

Brandyn Garcia with 1 2/3 scoreless in a must win against the Yankees. He's been in 54 games and ERA down to 1.88. Great season for him. They sent him down to Reno in the final cut down out of spring training but when he was recalled he made himself a mainstay of the Arizona bullpen.

Garcia another scoreless inning against the Yankees in a must win game.

Braden Montgomery 5-9 the last 2 games. Turning the corner hopefully.

The Diamondbacks went down to the last day still alive but couldn't pull it out. I've posted a lot about Brandyn Garcia here because I watch all their games and go to about 10 games a year. He started the year down in Reno but once he was recalled he was great. 57 games, 51.1 innings, only 27 hits, 60 Ks, 0.74 WHIP and 1.93 ERA. It was really fun watching him be embraced by the fans and the community. He's gotten a good bit of attention on social media here.

Michael Wacha finished 2026 with 1,574 career strikeouts which is 212th all-time in MLB history; a decent season next year could get him into the Top 150 as he only needs 149 more to get there.

His 120 career wins ties him for 451st all-time; it is a crowded list as 10 more wins would propel him all the way to 377th all-time. 23 more wins to get to 143 would place him inside the Top 300 on the career list.

His 24.2 WAR (as calculated by Baseball Reference) is 434th all-time. Top 400 is only 0.8 WAR away and Top 300 is 5.9 WAR away (about 2 good seasons worth for Wacha - he's averaged 3.2 WAR per season over the past 5 years).

His guaranteed contract is good through the 2027 season with a club option for 2028. He led the American League in innings pitched this year with 200.2 innings and was 7th in WAR at 4.3, both career highs.

Jeff Kent's son and Lamkin are playing in the Arizona Fall League which starts tomorrow and runs 7 weeks. Unfortunately I'm in CS for the Arkansas game and have to miss opening weekend. Bad choice
