He was 4 for his last 27 after last night and I doubt a manager gives any thought to who came to see any particular player. Might have needed a night off and Grichik, his replacement, did drive in 2 of their runs.

Alex Bregman went 1-32 his rookie yea with the Astros, they never benched him. If you call a rookie up you gotta let him work through the slumps

They also were 11 games out of 1st place while the White Sox are fighting for a playoff spot. I'm not supporting sitting Montgomery but the situations are different.

I'm at the Diamondbacks Phillies game this afternoon. Brandyn Garcia pitched a scoreless 7th inning. He's become maybe the most reliable reliever in the Arizona bullpen.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if both Jace and Gavin get invited to spring training with the big club. Neither will likely make the majors next year but I could see Jace being a September call-up and Gavin definitely starts next year in AA.

Of course, that's if there is a MLB season in 2027. Which I doubt.

I am a little surprised GG hasn't already made the jump to AA for the end of the season, given the tear he is/went on.
