Does it really matter at this point? No. 4 starters have been just as dominant against us as No. 1s. The climb from this point is so uphill that it doesn't matter where you start. Have to beat everyone without losing another one, dragging along the most atrocious offense in recent history. (EDIT: Not implying at all that it can't be done.)

Actually we bring back some very good pitching next year. If we just bring in a bunch of juco guys with average bats and bring in coaches who can get the most out of them we will have a very strong team next year.


We say that every year. We always bring back some, not near enough. Plus we are going to lose at least one.

It's a tough situation. Keep RC and hope the one or 2 offensive players he lands is enough or go with a new HC who may not be a pitching coach and relies in recruiting studs instead of teaching. Short term may be tough for new coach, but if he can recruit and has good assistants, should get better than this.


I'm not saying to keep RC or to fire him. I'm withholding comment on that until the season is over. Just saying the cubbard won't be completely empty for whoever's coaching.

I am curious what your definition of success is. I am not saying you are wrong. But there is a very small handful of coaches who have been better/more consistent than RC.
