Leave the *****ing about Hyman, RC, this season, last night, national seeds, etc. to a different thread. Hell I may even do a season in review thread for that ****.

This is simply to look at who is leaving this year for sure, which recruits get drafted, and track when Aggie players get drafted so we can start to look ahead at what type of roster the Ags will have.

I got this from Mr. Ackar who posted on a different thread last week. Assuming it's correct.

Seniors
Blake Allemand - SS- Aggie playing career over - Drafted 5th round #151 by Brewers
Jason Freeman - P - Aggie playing career over
G.R. Hinsley - 1B - Aggie playing career over
Patrick McLendon - 2B - Aggie playing career over
Mitchell Nau - C/DH - Aggie playing career over
Logan Nottebrok - 3B - Aggie playing career over

Juniors
Michael Barash - C
Matt Kent - P - Drafted in Round 13, #381 by the Red Sox
Blake Kopetsky - OF/P
Grayson Long - P - Drafted in Round 3, #104 by the Angels
Hunter Melton - 1B
A.J. Minter - P - Drafted in Competitive Balance Round B # 75 overall
Jonathan Moroney - OF
J.B. Moss - OF
Ty Schlottmann - P
Kyle Simonds - P
Logan Taylor - OF Drafted Round 12 #365 by Mariners
Andrew Vinson - P
Boomer White - OF

Sophomores
Tyler Stubblefield - P
Cody Whiting - P

Incoming Transfers
Joel Davis - SS

Incoming Freshmen
Beau Burrows - P - Drafted in the 1st round, # 22 overall
Alan Campero - INF
Tyler Ivey - P
George Janca - INF
Trey Jimmerson - OF
Stephen Kolek - P
Tristan Metten - INF
Chris Paddack - P Drafted in the 8th round, #236 by Marlins
Ashe Russell - P - Drafted in the 1st round, #21 overall
Cody Stanley - OF
Nash Walters - P Drafted by the Brewers in the 3rd round #90 overall
Mitchell Kilkenny
Dakota Klein
Hunter Spaeth

Any predictions on where recruits or juniors get drafted today, and who is most likely to leave? I'd assume Long, Taylor and Vinson are gone. Not sure on Kent.

Edit: Below are guys on the roster who will be returning who were NOT draft eligible:
Freshmen:
Cole Bedford
Matt Collins
Corbin Martin
Brigham Hill
Cason Sherrod
Turner Larkings

Sophomores:
Ryne Birk
Nick Banks
Nick Choruby
Lee May Gonzalez
Ryan Hendrix
Mark Ecker
Ronnie Gideon

Wondering where JF would fit into the Aggie roster if he decides (or the Browns pay him off) to leave pro football for MLB.

I bet Vinson is back and Melton may be gone...other that that I think we're going to be damn good next year

Thank you for starting this thread. Will be interesting to watch as the draft progresses.

sorry, this isn't a full roster, just draft eligible players to track. But if you want, I can go get the rest of the guys to add up there.

Agree that Long is gone. I don't have the slightest clue about Vinson but I believe Kent and Stubbs will return. Taylor is most likely gone, but if we can somehow hold on to him our outfield will be incredible next year with Taylor, Banks and Boomer White.

If Kent and Stubbs stay, our pitching staff will be dangerous next year. We'll still have Hendrix, Simonds, Ecker, Martin, Hill and Larkins (hope he lives up to his potential). Most importantly, we'll still have Barash behind the plate.

In addition, our 2015 pitching class is loaded, if they don't opt for the draft. Russell and Burrows are gone, but it will be huge if we can hold on to at least 3 out of Paddack, Kolek, Ivey and Walters.

One of the main guys I hope we hold on to is Joel Davis, the 6-4, 200 lb INF/OF JUCO transfer out of Seminole, OK. He's a left-handed hitter, has power and speed and can play 3rd base.

Agree completely about Davis. Do you think he has any shot at playing SS for us, or is he most likely going to slide over to 3rd?

Ags HAVE to get better defensively in the middle infield.

Absolutely agree about the middle infield. What I love about Davis is that he has the skill set to play SS or 3rd.

how many of those young players fit small ball (fast, good/great glove) ?

Technically he is not an "incoming freshman" as he is not a baseball recruit.

Thanks, Bunk!

We have some proven arms coming back and there's a chance that Kent doesn't sign. In my opinion, he is the Friday night guy IF he returns.

The problem this year is that Allemand is really a 2B. We traded bats for defense. I don't think that there is anyone on the 2015 roster that will be the SS next year.

I believe Joel Davis plays short...Not sure how good he is with the glove. Would love to see this kid come to A&M.

I think he's going to play 3b for us. At least that's what the signing day quotes made it sound like.

I would too. I think we will be better defensively next year. Just blind faith at this point, but it is just something that I think will get better in the summer assignments.

With Gideon DHing? I like it. 3B was a black hole both offensively and defensively.

Sounds like there's a possibility we bring in a JUCO SS after the draft shakes out.

If we do that, we could have Davis at 3b, JUCO SS as our IF left side with the freshmen MI and boomer white competing with birk for 2B. I think that would represent a serious upgrade at IF defense.

That slot value is almost $650k.

He gone.

Maybe. While that is a lot of money, it's not the kind that makes you set for life. It also depends on if he's looking for over slot money and if the team can pay him that much.

With bonus pools now, it's rare that guys drafted in the top 10 rounds don't sign. last year, I think it was less than 10 guys total drafted in the first 10 rounds that went unsigned and two were due to the Aiken injury fiasco with the Astros.

Yes, if he was drafted that high they probably already have a bonus number locked down. Larkins turned down a million last year but he wasn't a slot pick.

We'll see on Stubby. If he gets picked today, I agree that he's gone, too.

I didn't mean that I expect him to be on campus, just saying he's not the guaranteed "he gone" that Russell and Burrows are.

I think Stubb will be back unless he is picked late and someone throws a big bonus at him. Already 125 down, I don't see a slot pick having a big enough bonus to entice him to leave after his Soph season. A good year next year will ensure him a top draft slot for sure.
