avoid a bad loss in our last two non conference games and this team has probably done enough to comfortably punch their ticket with even an average showing in conference play considering how stacked the SEC is this year.

Purdue's 45.3% shooting pct was their third lowest in a game this year.

This team finds a way to win. Love them boys!

I feel pretty confident that the Ags would make the tournament with a 7-11 record in the SEC. Anything 500 or better probably gets a top 6 seed.

Like I've said, the overreaction to an away loss in the opening game missing a starter was ridiculous. A blue blood doesn't drop but maybe 1 spot with the same performance against the same team.

Newsflash, sports media is lazy, blue blood biased, and lacks critical thinking. Until real world results slap them in the face and make them look stupid. Only then will they start giving respect. But it's merely a hedging mechanism. Any loss will be a reason to discount us again.

This is easily the hardest non con schedule we've played. Given the schedule, you could argue we should be in the top 10.

Kenpom has our defense at #5 in the nation so seems like elite defense is our identity. It also seems like depth and hustle are another component. Look at our minutes compared to Purdue. We don't need 3 starters playing close to 40 minutes like they did.

I feel like our defense is way better defending the 3 ball this year because we have a lineup where just about anyone can switch off and effectively guard anyone else on the other team

I don't disagree, but that was still an inexcusable loss, even if we were missing a starter. UCF is not a good team and we held a second half double digit lead. Luckily, we turned it around and had a great non-conference run…but there was really no excuse to lose to UCF.

I haven't been watching. I assumed that was inferred by the question.

I asked because I wanted to know if we won because we played to our strengths and played our style or if today was an anomaly.

I apologize if that upset you.

Not arguing. But it was a first game on the road. Dropping a team from top 15 to barely top 25 is an insane overreaction in college basketball.

Great win today by A&M.

Buzz and the Aggies starting off the season strong is encouraging when conference starts.

As a Coog fan watching the Aggies is like watching UH's identical twin when it comes to basketball culture. No wonder why they scrimmaged this year.

Matt Painter's teams always get good looks. That's about as bad as they ever look on offense.

That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Yeah. I think those guys honestly had been looking at boxscores and team stats which aren't pretty. But I think a large portion of the country was actually watching this game and were like OK they aren't pretty but they ****ing battle.

This is the epitome of a Buzz team.

One fun thing about this team: every school we beat thinks they got hosed by the refs. After each win in this stretch, I would check out the comments on the @marchmadness instagram post, and every single time there has been a hoard of butthurt fans saying "refs vs creighton / tech / Purdue / etc".

Our style of ball is super annoying to lose to

Didn't upset me at all. I made a statement that if you had to ask then it was either a) or b) and you confirmed it was a).

Today was perhaps more of an anomaly on offense in that we actually seemed to have a specific plan of attack as opposed to just attack the rim and get rebounds. Let's hope that continues.

True. I also think having talented teams like last year that just weren't consistent didn't help either. Paired with an early wtf loss and some waited on this run before jumping on the ship.

If we only had the Oregon loss I think we'd be a top 10 ranked teams for public perception.

I was wondering earlier today if any team has ever received an at-large bid while going 4 games under .500 in conference play.

8-10 in this league is going to be like 13-5 in any other conference this season. SEC is just loaded

I know the SEC is loaded, but let's be honest…going 7-11 in league play would have to be considered a tremendous disappointment.

agreed, but you could lose a bunch of great games. I'd be absolutely thrilled with 10-8.

I think on any given night, when this team plays under control, with focus and energy they can play with anyone. Over the long haul of an SEC season against the competition there is this season there are going to be some losses. But every team is going to face that. I don't see anyone going 17-1 or 16-2

I think 14-4 might have a chance to win it. Tennessee plays Kentucky and Florida twice, Alabama and Auburn play each other twice, Florida also plays Alabama, Auburn and Kentucky all away.
