avoid a bad loss in our last two conference games and this team has probably done enough to comfortably punch their ticket with even an average showing in conference play considering how stacked the SEC is this year.

Kenpom has our defense at #5 in the nation so seems like elite defense is our identity. It also seems like depth and hustle are another component. Look at our minutes compared to Purdue. We don't need 3 starters playing close to 40 minutes like they did.

Like I've said, the overreaction to an away loss in the opening game missing a starter was ridiculous. A blue blood doesn't drop but maybe 1 spot with the same performance against the same team.
Newsflash, sports media is lazy, blue blood biased, and lacks critical thinking. Until real world results slap them in the face and make them look stupid. Only then will they start giving respect. But it's merely a hedging mechanism. Any loss will be a reason to discount us again.
This is easily the hardest non con schedule we've played. Given the schedule, you could argue we should be in the top 10.

Purdue's 45.3% shooting pct was their third lowest in a game this year.
This team finds a way to win. Love them boys!

Yeah. I think those guys honestly had been looking at boxscores and team stats which aren't pretty. But I think a large portion of the country was actually watching this game and were like OK they aren't pretty but they ****ing battle.

This is the epitome of a Buzz team.
Texas A&M's defensive performance today against Purdue in Indianapolis was beyond elite.

Aggies are so much better than they were in March when they took Houston to OT in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Have yet to lose this season at full strength. https://t.co/ffxlynKOYq

I feel pretty confident that the Ags would make the tournament with a 7-11 record in the SEC. Anything 500 or better probably gets a top 6 seed.
agreed, but you could lose a bunch of great games. I'd be absolutely thrilled with 10-8.Luke The Drifter said:
I know the SEC is loaded, but let's be honest…going 7-11 in league play would have to be considered a tremendous disappointment.

I don't disagree, but that was still an inexcusable loss, even if we were missing a starter. UCF is not a good team and we held a second half double digit lead. Luckily, we turned it around and had a great non-conference run…but there was really no excuse to lose to UCF.
