I've seen lots of college basketball folks lately not mentioning A&M at all when talking about the good SEC teams and guys with their own top 25s and not including A&M (probably because it's not a visibly appealing product on the court). A lot of those same folks are taking notice currently on Twitter admitting they have been sleeping on A&M.

Hell of a win. This is not a game we would have won the past few years.

Yeah. I think those guys honestly had been looking at boxscores and team stats which aren't pretty. But I think a large portion of the country was actually watching this game and were like OK they aren't pretty but they ****ing battle.

This seems to be one of those teams that even though they are winning and building up a good resume, they still often leave you doubting how good they are because of the terrible shooting numbers. And to be fair, I am still not sure that A&M is better than the 6th or 7th best team in its own conference, because of how stacked the SEC is right now.

Creighton stumbled before they played us and Tech was missing Toppin so I can see why people were writing off those games a bit; plus we play hideous basketball most of the time but that was a high level game today.

D, offensive rebounding for sure. The difference this year is we are better shooting in the perimeter. We have incredible depth that allows us to play tough D the whole game. This team could be very special if the shots continue to fall. Payne does concerns me at the charity stripe.

Yep. And taking more foul shots than the opponent.

When we are actually shooting well in spurts we look unstoppable but unfortunately that is only spurts many other times watching our offense and all the missed shots and turnovers is a teeth grinding affair.

Kenpom has our defense at #5 in the nation so seems like elite defense is our identity. It also seems like depth and hustle are another component. Look at our minutes compared to Purdue. We don't need 3 starters playing close to 40 minutes like they did.

Because we win ugly so often, I think it is hard to get a read on just how good we are. But today's game was definitely the best of the season and a tournament level win. WIll be fun to see how this team continues to develop.

My Tech buddy COMPLETELY dismissed us after watching us for the first time last week.

We just don't LOOK like a great team because of the lack of coherent offense.

You look at that BCG team that was so well connected on defense, and look at the level of athlete we're putting on the floor now. This team has 4 freaks.

We are clearly legit Top-20 good. Just a question if the offensive efficiency can get better to be more optimistic about a deep NCAA tournament run.

That BCG team finished #14 in defensive efficiency on Kenpom and the 2015-2016 team (Caruso's senior year) finished ranked #9.

This team currently sitting at #5 is definitely playing defense thus far at a deservedly described 'elite' level.
