I'm surprised it took this long. Most retailers stopped shipping a few years ago when Texas started enforcing the law that retailers had to have a physical store here to ship wines to consumers' homes in the state.

Pretty easy to get around with contract shipping. I buy it there, take possession, and hire a service to pick up my wine and ship it to me.

I don't think that works with retailers, at least not legally.

Hand punching is actually pretty efficient. Also thorough and gentle! But yes, they do make tools...

It's all a fascinating process. I'm really enjoying being exposed to it.

I got to punch down some nice juice in Napa a few years ago. It was a fun learning process, but now I know why they have interns.

And yes there is a reason they get interns to do it. Learned punch-downs as a harvest intern at Pisoni, can't believe that was 10 years ago.

And the safety harness isn't to protect the wine. CO2 production in those tanks can be very deadly if you fall in!

that's correct. he's a true one man operation, even doing the vineyard work primarily himself plus all the sales and bookkeeping, etc. along with winemaking.

Had a bottle of '10 Pott Her Majesty with some Cane Rosso pizza for dinner tonight. Seemed a little young but still a very good wine. Had one of the deepest purple colors I can remember seeing in a wine as well.

And yes, the bottle was acquired from BSD, thank you sir. Glad I ordered some (again through BSD) this year.

Anybody received any shipping notices yet? Most of my allocations came 1st week of Nov last year, but I haven't seen any ship dates yet. With the hot fall we're having in Tx, we might not get our juice till Thanksgiving!

I actually got a delivery last week.

supposed to get 2 sent next week, but I'm a bit skeptical because it is supposed to stay in upper 80's through next Wednesday, at least, here in Houston.

I almost pulled the trigger on some 2013 Spottswoode today but held back. The same can't be said for 2013 Dalla Valle, 2013 Dalla Valle Maya, and 2014 Fait Main Chardonnay.

It's 88 degrees out there according to my car. I'd slap someone for shipping this week. Several weather-hold notifications give me the idea that they know better.
