No luck on figuring out the points from last year. The online account has already reverted back to 0 for the new year.

My wife gets the emails of when they have 2x, 3x reward point sales and we usually stock up then. I think every once in a while they have 6x points when you buy 6 bottles or a case of the winery direct. So you can game the system some without spending thousands.

A couple bottles out there I'm curious if people are seeing on shelves anywhere? New Riff and Smoke Wagon.

Is new riff available in Texas?

Also, had a buddy send me a barrel pick a month or so ago. Not a fan.

That's what I'm wondering. It may not be available yet.

I was told new riff is not yet available in Texas. I've tried their Single Barrel though and it was great for how young the juice is. Will be interested to see how they progress as they get some more mature offerings.

Went into this spot to check it out. The W12 was gone but they had the 107 bundled with a FR small batch and something else for 215. They did have a 3 bourbon bundle of Henry McKenna 10, Bookers, and Eagle rare for 259. Seems to be about 60 - 70 too much. Passed on it all. (The Allen Liquor 4 U)

Yea I wouldn't pay that for either of those bundles. Four roses small batch can be had for $30 anywhere. Including it in a bundle is just an attempt to get uneducated buyers to bite.

I heard Willet dropped this week. Went to grab a bottle. Apparently Specs went through 6 cases on the day it dropped. Bourbon hunting is getting harder. Had a friend come across Weller 12 at retail so hopefully I can get a bottle from him.

New rule: outside of this thread. Everyone shut your damn mouths. Whiskey is awful and nobody should buy it ever again.

I know where an entire case of WFE 4yr Rye is located in Houston if you are looking. PM me for info.

Anyone on here have experience with 1981 Wild Turkey Decanters. I havent opened them yet but fill level appears to be in the 60-80% range.

I hate to break the news to you but the cats already out of the bag. Bourbon is booming and it sucks for those of us who have appreciated it well before it become popular.

Walked in a liquor store in Jackson WY last night and saw they had Elmer T Lee. I asked the clerk for the price....$350. I chuckled. They did have EC BP B519, but I decided to leave on shelf.

When I have found it in the past, I think I paid around $60-$65.

Cheapest I've ever seen it is $56.00 and that was at Total Wine. I love Stagg Jr., so I'd buy it for anything under $140.00.

Lol, every new generation of posters on this thread suggests the same thing.

It's actually gotten kind of fun to watch the new posters cycle from excited new fans sampling all different things, to hunting fiends trying to get their hands on the good stuff once they get bored with shelf-bottles, to frustrated hunters mad about not being able to get what they want, and eventually getting fed up with it all and deciding that plenty of easy to find mid-range are perfectly enjoyable pours and retiring from the madness.

Sounds like you're somewhere between stage 2 and stage 3.

I'm afraid I'm in the "moved onto other spirits" stage. WP10 Alberta barrels, sherried scotch, and rum are all that I've purchased lately.

I got really lucky a few years ago so have a decent stock. Since then I've kept an eye out, gone to a few raffles, made a trade for OFBB, but pretty much only buy wine now. The score I have should last my lifetime at the rate I drink it, so oh well.

If you thought bourbon was expensive, start drinking wine..... At least a couple hundred dollar of bourbon lasts longer than a night!

Thanks to our wine club memberships I'm currently buying wine at a 2x rate relative to how much we drink. The Brunellos and Barolos that need a decade of aging aren't helping the count either.

Yeah I'll admit I'm a new generation of poster, however I've been into bourbon well before that. I totally understand what you're saying. Lots of people get the bug and get hooked on hunting. Once they realize that most of the "good" stuff is ridiculously overpriced (mostly due to secondary market) or impossible to find they get frustrated. There are so many great bourbons that are accessible and affordable. I have a good selection of daily drinkers and some reserved for special occasions. I'm always excited to try something new and enjoy the hobby

The newest EH Taylor release has been announced. It'll be a 18 year blend of high rye and wheated bourbon called 18 Year Marriage. I believe last years release hit stores in July.

Haha. Yeah wine is a killer. Once you open the bottle up you have to finish it and only get a couple glasses worth. I typically try to pick up a bottle of wine when I grab a bottle of bourbon to keep my wife happy. It's funny how we complain about a $100 bottle of bourbon that lasts years but are willing to spend $40 on a bottle of wine that lasts one night.

Liquor Depot in Euless (DFW) has the following:

McKenna 10 bib
WFE
Rc6
Heaven hill
Kentucky owl two kinds
ECBP
Bunch of high-priced Japanese bourbons as well.

Pricing is ridiculous though. The empty Blanton's sticked had $147.99 on it and they were selling EHT SB (not SiB) for $99.
