Anyone had Whitmeyer's out of Houston? They Have a 22 month 111 proof single barrel release tomorrow.
Yup, I'll be heading there to pick up a couple bottles.

Don't get the love for whitmeyers
They've had some decent stuff that was sourced over the years but people are going to all over themselves to talk about how great yet another way underaged release of theirs is great

Some Spec's stores in the Houston area got Weller 12 today. The store at HWY6 and Bissonett got a case in. I asked the manager by chance and he said he got some this morning. Bottles are in the back and one per customer.
They do better rye than they do bourbon IMO
I don't know if they've done rye in the past but the recent rye releases they've done is all MGP

Spec's Dairy Ashford and Memorial had Weller 12 - limit 1 per person. Have to ask for it.

The Whitmeyer's bourbon rye blend isn't bad. Probably better than the HW Bourye tbh.

I got some of the new release today. It's pretty incredible for only 22 months. It's way more smooth than I expected at 111 proof. I'm a big fan
Picked up a 200ml bottle of peerless rye tonight - always wanted to try it but not paying big bucks for a full bottle. I'll take this for 24 bucks
Nothing you can get at a local liquor store from them is worth it. Their distillery-only releases are fantastic. Single barrel, barrel selections, whatever, the distillery only bottles are the best Texas bourbon I've had.
I picked up a single barrel store pick and it was unique, but nothing special. I don't plan on buying another.
If you need them, Goody Goody in Little Elm got a ton of 1.75 Weller green ($30) and Buffalo Trace ($50) yesterday. They are tucked away by the glass area.

Relatively speaking in my area at least. It's near impossible to find any BT products on the shelves these days. I usually pick up some when I find it at that price. I enjoy it as a mixer at least, and on ice in a pinch. Walked out of the store with one of those and a Noah's Mill.
