It's like a gang bang.

You only go so far and do so much as you're body is comfortable doing.

Everyone is different.

Pour size is at your own discretion, but pouring up 2oz of someone's rare bottle might revoke your invite to the next event. It's about experiencing new whiskey, not getting wasted.

1/4 oz or "one finger" max if you're doing a legit tasting with a lot of offerings. If your glass looks anything close to a normal single shot, the offerings had better be coming from plastic bottles and common names. Pace yourself.

When pulling from someone's extra special bottle, bourbon etiquette also typically dictates taking an extremely short first pour. Don't put yourself in the position of accepting a full pour, then having to lie and say you really enjoyed it when you didn't. The polite lie can lead to an unintended second pour. If you really enjoy it, then accept a larger second, if offered.

Hope you guys can put something together. Jealous I don't live there.

as a general rule, if it's distilled in Texas, it sucks.

Giving away the secrets before we can get there! I was hoping to get down to Nasa but doesn't look like it would happen until Friday. Sure it'll be gone by then. Also have Wild Turkey 17.

If this gets put together I have two BTAC Handy's from different years and a Stagg.

I can't host, yet, on the west side of Houston because we haven't moved into our house.

Something I'm interested in, not into cigars but I'll bring my crack pipe.

I can host one night too. I have an icehouse in back yard. Live in Tomball.

I don't know if this has been covered but EC12 is dropping the 12 from the label. It's being blended down with younger stock due to the high demand. If you see the 12 on the label you may want to stash a bit because it's going bye-bye. Spec's is now carrying the younger stock.

A poster previously said EC12 was the same juice, but that the label change was due to the fact that they were eventually going to start blending the younger stuff - so more of a marketing strategy right now

The new EC Small Batch label that replaced the EC12 label still says 12 years on the back label in small print. I can only imagine this is so they can drop the age statement without as much fuss down the road. Same juice right now.

Enjoying a 2013 old Forster birthday bourbon with dinner tonight. The bull & bush in Denver has a great whiskey selection with good pricing. They have all the birthday bourbons going back to '10, for $6-8 a pour.

They also have quite a few of the buffalo trace experimentals, any worth checking out?

Thats a good price. ..13 is my favorite of the past fee years.

Never had any of the experimentals but have had a couple single oak barrels. Both were tasty

Center cut, for sure. Price ranges from $50 to $65 for that Bookers Roundtable series. The #5 is just hitting shelves. I buy every #1 Big Man/Small Batch I can find, and I'm about to purchase a case of the #3 Center Cut.

Got a bottle on the "center cut" today. That's good stuff! Any of the others worth getting?
