I fell in love with the Penelope Private Select last year. Put it in a blind with other 10 year olds and the 1924 came out on top.
Haven't had McKenna in a while so a little surprised I put it in 2nd.

I saw it for $576. Curious to see how bad a price that was. The particular store had several hard to find bottles that all looked to be close to double MSRP. There might be a deal to be had on the GTS. They told me it had been there for a couple months.

They had ER at $77.

Did you proof the others down to 90 for an even comparison? The ER is the lighter of the bunch.

No, but that might be an idea for next time. I don't ever add drops or ice to anything so wasn't too worried about how they stacked up with different proofs. These are four bourbons I'll always try to have on hand, and honestly didn't even look at the proof of the 1924 before I tasted it.
The Penelope is 106.8 so had a range amongst the four.

I don't remember the specific site, but in general I would not recommend buying online from anywhere that is not an established retailer with history.

I've used: Seelbach's, SharedPour, ReserveBar

If you see a site that's either advertising a price that seems too good to be true, OR seems to have selection of products that are rarely available, it's likely a scam.

Many states don't allow DTC shipping right now and you'll have potential issues with that, as well.

Frootbat occasionally sells some things at a good deal. One time i had an issue with Blantons Red wax and they told me to keep the bottle and they reshipped me a new one. That was in the facebook flipper hayday and it was 169.99 free shipping. Felt that was fair.

I haven't bought online in years but once got a decent deal on Stagg Jr on Frootbat. It was like $225 at the time which was pretty damn good. Anyway, I ordered three and when I got them they were a Batch 7 and two Batch 9s. Still have one of the 9s I think.

The post that Tom Cardy & I referenced is gone. I don't remember what the website was. It was a .org site I do remember that.

The post actually replied to a comment from like 10 years ago. So it was some bot scanning for a specific word.

It was pretty obvious that it was a scam.
