Heads up for Houston guys. Joey from Specs downtown said they were gonna have some special stuff this morning. He has already posted some Texas stuff that's usually not available here, but told me he wasn't going to mention the really good stuff on twitter.

Maybe he was just trying to sucker me into going there this morning (which he did), but I'll report back with what I find.

Looks like he suckered me in. Got some Blood and Honey and an Austin Beerworks I hadn't tried yet. They also had some bombers (picked up Four Swords), but that was about it.

**** no! I was really hoping for some of that or Greenhouse IPA. Blood & Honey is probably the one I was happiest to get. It's only a wheat beer, but people seem to go crazy for it, so we will see. Fwiw, he did say small amounts were going out to the other Specs in Houston in case anyone else wanted to grab it.

Silly question, but just got a growler today.

Will Petrol, Rockwell, ect give me grief for bringing a Whole Foods growler to fill?
Someone told me that a few establishments won't fill them unless they have their own logo. I have a hard time believing this.

Spadilly - I don't think those places will give you any trouble if you try to get your growler filled there. Be aware that they are going to be MUCH more expensive than Whole Foods though. Growlers has better prices than the bars too, but not quite as good as Whole Foods.

I've run into this. My favorite place will only fill THIER growler.

Moved on to my last founders backwoods *******. Only place I've come across it was bastrop, of all places, at Christmas. Wish I'd bought another four pack now. I love a good scotch ale and the bourbon barrel aging on it is great.
