Blackberry was tasty. Yep, there was a little bottleshare. Had some 08 BCBS, some block 15 brews, and barrel aged speedway stout. I brought an upright blend love batch 2 and new Glarus wild sour. Good times as usual. I arrived kind of late because I was driving all over north Denver looking for FW Velvet Merkin.

I know I'd certainly be willing to take a few off your hands if you happen to bring more. I VERY much enjoyed each of the CS brews you brought last time.

Anyone going to Hops & Grain's 2 year Anniversary party on Sunday? I'm contemplating it cuz I need to do a beer trade with a friend in Austin anyways..

maca, my go to spot for the crooked stave, and pretty much everything else quality, is J&K Liquor off of Powers next to the Safeway. They pretty much always have CS stuff. The shop that has the best variety in town would have to be Coaltrain but it is too far from my place to hit up all the time. I have the best luck finding Pliny at Cheers liquor mart but can’t remember if they have CS or not, I’m sure they do. Last time I was down by Ft Carson, Carson’s wine and liquor had a **** ton of RRBC Supplication if you’re into that.

Tip about West Coast IPA's: check the bottle date. If it's outside of a month from the day you purchased to the day it was bottled, I'd probably take a pass.

Firestone Walker makes some fantastic beers, Pale 31/Pivo/the Jacks...but check those bottle dates. The style uses very little to no crystal malt which results in a very delicate malt backbone that stands aside to allow the hops to shine. As you get 1 1/2 months from bottling the hop character really falls off leaving you with a sub quality beer.

They don't really last very long which is not a characteristic of an IPA. Some have mentioned coining them San Diego Pale Ales, but with much blowback from the brewing community. The idea was first published by Garret Oliver of Brooklyn Brewing to differentiate what was going on in San Diego vs other IPA's.

The fresher it is, the better it is so keep 'em cold and drink 'em quick.

Sage advice. I wish I could find fresh pale 31. Such a great beer, but you're completely right, it falls off fast. Sometimes I'll find a double jack <1 month old and it's a treat.

Sounds good. I'm usually here 5:30-6 and stay 2-3 beers worth.

I survived Oktoberfest and made it back to the states safely. I can say that if you've not been, it should be on your list. I can also say that there is ZERO chance Oktoberfest could exist on that scale anywhere in the US. There would be fights, arrests, etc. Everyone there was just out to have fun and very well behaved.

maybe this could be done on the same trip, but a belgium flemish/trappist brewery crawl is top of my list!

Only had a taste on draft of the Pumpking but it was meh. Got a bottle in the fridge as well so well see if its any better out of the bottle. I wish they'd get their Warlock pumpkin stout down here. Sounds like it would be better.

I won't be there on Wednesday. Cellar Reserve members were able to order online. I will be there on Thursday before heading to the convention center. I want to check out The Source

Hey Ags.. Any of you want to go to GABF but didn't buy tickets??!?!

I have two tickets for Saturday night (10 days away). I will sell at cost (my good deed to my virtual beer buddies) $150 for the pair.
They are electronic, so I can email them to you.

First person to email me at tcw5457 at yahoo dot com

Please only email if you can honestly go!

Had both Krunkin Pumpkin and DFH's Pumpkin Ale on tap this weekend. Although I like a lot of Karbach's offerings, I prefer the Pumpkin Ale.
