Question regarding growlers and specifically paying for a fill. Do you tip? Bought and filled my first at the Growler Room in central Austin today and tipped on the bill. Don't know if that's expected. Thoughts?

Wish I would've saw this earlier.... Stopped by there earlier to pick up a bottle of bourbon and didn't really look to hard at the beer selection.

They had it (Firestone) at the Wirt Rd Specs this afternoon. There were several bottles left when I grabbed one.

Needless to say, it's impressive.

It's really helping me cure the "staying at home instead of traveling to Arkansas" blues.

Dammit...missed this while we were out. The kiddo only made it through 4 innings at the game tonight..it's been a long day.

Wessimo, check the CCB website to see what they have on tap and what is for sale at the brewery. Stock up on Jai Alai IPA and then their seasonal bomber at the time.

They are the predominant brewery that distributes bottles if you are looking to bring bottles back home. 7th Sun in Dunedin is an up and coming brewery.

Assuming you are in Texas, other well known breweries that don't see distro in TX are out Bell's, Terrapin, an Hoppin Frog

Heading out to the Texas Craft Beer Fest today... Should be a good time. Looks like close to every Texas brewery is being represented. I'll hopefully report back with pics at some point.

A couple for the Breaking Bad finale tonight

Had a great time at the Texas Craft Beer Fest yesterday... Highlights were Lakewood's Lions Share, and essentially everything from Karbach & Austin Beerworks.

Saw this at HEB today. Didn't buy as it was before noon.

Is Krunkin Pumpkin rare this year? I saw quite a bit at Kroger on Wirt/Westview this morning.

They made a lot more this year, apparently.

Got back from CO today. Stopped in at Crooked Stave yesterday afternoon. If it hadn't got such glowing reviews from this thread I would have been highly skeptical. It's tucked away into a random commercial park in a place you would never find if you didn't know it existed. Apparently they are moving next weekend and I'm sure it's not a more public friendly spot. I'm glad we got to hit up the old spot as I liked the hole in the wall feel. There were only 10 or so people there so it made it nice not to have it crowded. Had the Hop Savant dry hopped w/Galaxy, St Bretta Fall, & Surette. All three were outstanding with Surette being my favorite.






After Crooked Stave we stopped by Renegade Brewing real quick before the A&M game started. Had a few tasters, their rye IPA (Redacted) was my favorite. They also had and very strong coffee milk brown (Conspirator) and a interesting beet saison (Beetnik) that reminded me of a Dwight Schrute beer.

Txag2008, glad you were able to visit crooked stave. I've really grown to love that hole in the wall. You are correct, they are moving this week to their new spot, which is much closer to LoDo.

I was at Crooked Stave this afternoon picking up the second round of Cellar Reserve beers. I have a lot of beer to ship. Ill bring a bottle of each of the new beers to the Auburn share.

NoCo, is crooked stave easy to find in Csprings? I'm going up there on business next month and want to bring some back.

Jock07 would be a better source for the springs. I don't get down there much. I'm sure there's a few places where you could find some Vielle, Surette, St Bretta and Hop Savant. They're pumping out plenty of those these days.
