i'm going to do a beer tasting fundraiser in the spring and probably one in the fall. gives me an excuse to make more.

i think my next project might be a Dunkelwhite.
I had a belgian white and dunkelweizen, both of which were delicious. One night I decided to mix the two in a pint glass and the result was quite tasty, so I think I'm going to brew a batch of each and then experiment a little. maybe mix some the wort and let it ferment together, depending on yeast. and I'll definitely ferment separately and mix at different ratios during bottling.

Where is that located? In Chicago? I can't seem to find it but my sister is up there at NIU and I might have her bring me back a trunk load of stuff.

So I saw that DFH is shipping 120 min; but only Kegs in TX? I thought you could get bottles in the past

yeah saw that but haven't you been able to get it in bottles in the past at SPECS?

Used to see it at Specs in bottles..always passed on it since it was like $12 a bottle...
DFH 120.
I've got 5 bottles from this year.
Also, my bar got 2 1/6 BBL kegs.

beer of the night: pelican brewery bad santa
Tried out the Meddlesome Moth for lunch last weekend while in the metroplex for T-day.
Had some DFH Pangaea and tried my first sour ale - Petrus Aged Pale. Liked them both, the Petrus was probably the most "interesting" beer I've had in a while.

hbc07....what would it take to get you to send some of the Pelican to TX? Apparently they don't ship here anymore. You may recall I had the thread in the outdoor board about heading out there. We made about 18 breweries (Bend's Ale Trail as well) about three weeks ago. It was greatness as always and we got to hang out with Darron the brewmaster from Pelican. All their beer is quality.

after the new year it looks like i'll be traveling more often for work. maybe i can get some beer back to texas as well.
I need to order some Pliny. I'm almost out and it's 2 months til I get back out there for the Younger release.

Luckily, I only had one of these, otherwise work might have been difficult today. This was a BIG beer! Lots of fruits and chocolate with some coffee flavors as well. I compared it to drinking a cherry flavored Port.
may go pick one up at Central Market this weekend if they have any left.
