If Rahm is smart, his team will use this as an opportunity. Open up negotiations with both LIV and the tour and take the position with the tour that he has millions of reasons to pursue what he is owed by LIV but is willing to make a clean break from LIV now and accept pennies on the dollar if the tour will consider the money he is willing to leave on the table to come back to the tour as part of his penalty.
That's a very weak hand. He'll likely be able to capture a few million from the bankrupt LIV, and I do not have any idea what it will cost him to collect that.
The PGA has all of the leverage.
