also, I'm guessing LIV gets phased out after this year and the team format may stay, but I'm thinking it may serve as an alternative to DP or Korn Ferry for prospects or lower rated golfers as a minor leagues like setup

Can't say never but for folks thinking this is because of the litigation, I highly doubt it. Litigation rarely moves that fast. I doubt little of substance has even been exchanged yet.

My guess is this is just about the money.

I don't think people realize how many ADA systems and Soldiers we have in Saudi. Hell my unit just got back from Saudi

At the end of the day, everybody is getting richer.

I feel so bad for the players. They continue to do what they're doing and still make a crap ton of money.

Once the LIV players get back into the fold, people will forget about everything.

From the sounds of it, it's the opposite. PIF is the one bringing money to the table. But they'll now have a much better chance of that investment generating a positive return.

The Saudis got payed? Think again. The PGA Tour just got a multi-billion dollar investment promised by PIF. The Saudis just bought the PGA Tour for all intent and purposes and will let the PGAT run this newly formed entity. PIF is estimated to be worth somewhere around $620 Billion and LIV was losing money so they made this move. PGA is a $1.5 Billion business and they were promised a multi-billion dollar investment. Hell yea the PGAT would agree.

The Board of Directors of the new commercial entity will include Al-Rumayyan as Chairman and Monahan as Chief Executive Officer; the new entity's Board will also include an Executive Committee comprising Al-Rumayyan, Monahan, Herlihy and PGA TOUR Policy Board member Jimmy Dunne. The full Board will be announced at a later date, and it is anticipated that all three founding members will have representation.

I was just responding to people claiming the PGA was paying LIV. That doesn't seem to be the case so I pointed that out.

Yes, as the primary financial backer of worldwide golf going forward, they will have considerable control.

Yeah, LIV absolutely just won this battle. They pretty much just bought the PGA and have the right of first refusal for any additional capital contributions. Saudi owns the PGA now

As I've been saying, (1) the losers have been golf fans with two fractured tours and (2) two separate tours were not going to have a healthy separate existence in the US. LIV was not gonna get a foothold in the US. So here we predictably are, either merge or the newbie dies. As we've seen over and over again in American sports

LIV just pulled this off by having nothing more than a TV contract with the CW.

This needs to be studied and taught in all business schools and universities for a long time. This is really an incredible story
