He and Palmer both have a lot to gain this month.

Palmer is now up to 64th in the world. If he can stay right in that range, he'll qualify for the Match Play and once you start qualifying for those WGC events, it makes it a lot easier to keep qualifying for them, and to get the world ranking up to qualify for all the majors.

Damn, not his day. Almost guaranteed to miss the cut barring a big turnaround on his next 27 holes.

Three doubles and two bogeys thru the first 7. I think that he is channeling my golf game.

This looks very similar to my typical scorecard.

I think that he has found every water hazard that is on the left side of the fairway.

Very good Cameron Champ feature on the Golf Channel during Live from The Players.

Talked about his Grandfather from Columbus, TX, his dad and journey to Texas A & M. Hitting balls over his grandfathers house as a kid.

They also retold the story of his grandfather, when he was in the Air Force going somewhere on bus- stopping in College Station and at a diner to get a sandwich, was told "we don't serve your kind here". Not a slap at A & M but more a slap at that time in our history.

Anyway his grandfather never told Cameron's dad or Cameron about that incident until after he accepted a scholarship at Texas A&M.

Very emotional segment for Cameron's dad and grandfather.

So proud he represents and loves his alma mater.

This is from his grandpa's local ABC station when Cameron won on the Web.com tour last fall. They have some cool video from a story they did on them in 2001 when Cam was 6!

And then goes birdie/eagle on 10 and 11 to get back to 2 over.

Keep doing what you are doing. I was really hoping he was going to make Augusta this year, but now I'm just hoping he can get things figured out. Hasn't played very well in the past few tourneys.

Young guys playing these courses for the first time normally get exposed. Not used to travel, crowds, media, flights....not to mention learning courses, greens.....hell hes still figuring out where the driving range is when he shows up. He should be fine eventually as he settles into a routine of some sort

He needs to stay off tight course with lots of water. He should do well at Trinity Forest.

Rough go of it for Cam the past month or so...hopefully the reason he withdrew isn't serious and he can get things back on track soon.

I'm not a swing specialist, but haven't a few of Foleys students experienced back issues?

Doesn't a bad back just go with the professional golf swing?

Not neccesarily. There are just a lot of players who have restricted hip turns in their backswing which puts a ton of torque on their lower back. Look at Jason Day. And I bet Koepka will will eventually run into similar issues as well.

Rough opening round yesterday but he has returned.

https://www.pgatour.com/roundrecap/2019/r012/1/52372.html

EDIT:

Much better round today but he needs to go lower on the back to make the cut. Currently 2 under on the day and tied for 76th.

Jim McLean and his X-factor. Flock of crap. Surprised there's not a class action lawsuit.

Many great golfers had big hip turns.
