Very nice Arky fan at Kyle Field said to me during the third quarter of our game this year: "if you guys don't stop scoring you are going to run out of ammo for that cannon." An Aggie behind him quickly said without missing a beat: "No....it's been Baylor tested many times, including just last year."
As art is staring another 4-8 season down the barrel, he is probably kicking himself for not getting out when he could last year.
Art Briles is a poor man's Gene Chizik, as RGIII was a poor man's Cam Newton.
But, the difference is that Baylor won't fire Art since he's still doing better than Baylor's fan's expectations.

Nope... they have said they are a good Defensive coordinator away from winning a National Championship.
And if they could be in the SEC, they would hang 45 on every team they played.
So, exceeding expectations except for those couple of bad breaks.
I think their expectations these days are "win five or six each year and go to a bowl once in a while."

Not true...at least initially. They're shrinking the stadium size to 45,000 down from ~50K at Floyd Casey with ability to expand.
If the tarp throws enough of a fit, they'll expand to accommodate it.
One of the secretaries in my office went to Baylor. She asked me today if I was ready for the Tide to roll over the Aggies.

It's a down year but look what has happened to Auburn as well after Cam Newton.
As I have stated previously, we are a program on the rise, the "RG3" recruiting effect will bring in the talent and it just needs to maturer. We're not "Texas young.". We are truly 2 years from reaping the benefits of the Heisman.
Only fear is Briles gets Arky or Auburn gig.

Briles is one of the premier coaches in college football. He has always succeeded in difficult situations and will continue to prove that out as he gets more talent.

ONE PLAYER leaving should not cause a team with so much talent to suddenly be a "one-conference-win" team again.
A good coach would be able to overcome that.
