It is time for Baylor to remember who they are....

I have a message from us Baptists in Waco. I would appreciate it if someone who goes to the aggies' site would link up and send them a message for me.

I want to tell them that I admire them. I admire the fact that they are better fans than we are. I admire them because they've achieved so little success with so much in resources these past years.

First Dennis Franchione and now Mike Sherman.

But enough about them.

We finally have a coach that believes in what he is doing and is reaping what he sows. We are starting to get better recruits here. We pray, we pay, we cheer, we wear gold, we attend the games, we fly our little flags with our little foam fingers. We care. We want to win.

I want to post this while the taste of victory over Texas still lingers in our mouths. I have the reason for our accomplishments. You can read my words and then go have a better life with the satisfaction of having this knowledge.

The reason we are now getting back to our glory days is simple.

I’m Baylor.

We're not the Aggies or the Whorns. We're just not. Ok, so we laid an egg and didn't beat Tech. TCU? Forget it. We got flat beat, but that was before things clicked.

We have the smallest student enrollment and the smallest athletic budget, yet we are still having success in multiple sports. We are starting to get mentioned on ESPN now that we are the highest ranked BCS-conference football team in Texas (our most sincere apologies to TCU). We are also coming off an Elite Eight season in men's basketball and a Final Four season in women's basketball. We could potentially have the national player of the year (Dunn/Griner) on both teams. And we are the highest ranked Big 12 South school in both preseason polls.

But I’m Baylor.

I know you think I'm just arrogant, but really I'm not.

I’m Baylor. We have forgotten our miserable past and are focusing on the present and the future. We're only going to get better. Really. I’m Baylor.

We're that kid that nobody picked to be on their team. That same kid that wound up getting bigger and stronger than anyone thought he could. That same kid that stood toe to toe with the "big boys" and won. And it felt good.

I’m Baylor.

I got voted Most Likely to Succeed from the brass section of the band, and then I did. I grew five inches, gained 50 pounds, cleared up the acne, and became the star quarterback...all before dating the prom queen.

I'm Baylor.

I went to school in Waco. There's really nothing else in Waco except for Baylor. It's a lot like College Station in that regard, except that we don't have sex with animals...we just aim to survive the surrounding ghetto.

I'm Baylor.

Notice how I didn't mention the bonfire. I don't do that because it was a tragedy and would be a dick move. No school should rejoice in the unfortunate passing of students at a rival. That goes for Patrick Dennehy as well.

But you already knew that I have class and wouldn't bring that up.

It's going to be fun playing this coming bowl season.

We will decorate our trees and trim them with the green and gold. We will spend Christmas with nighttime dreams of candy canes, Jolly St. Nick and a run at the Big 12 South again next year. But all that can wait until after winning our bowl game.

And then remember what I told you.

PS you're welcome. Otherwise had it not been for us this summer, you're sh!%%y athletic budget and student enrollment would be with the WAC while the othe teams went to the PAC 10. I assure you Baylor's politicians couldn't stand up to TAMU, tceh, AND tu alums.

The sad thing is, you can literally envision some dork, sitting behind his keyboard, filled with overwhelming pride and doing mental fist pumps after writing that tripe.

Listen up, Bears. It takes a lot more than 7 wins in one season to gain notoriety and respect. Look at Tech... they had a whole decade of success with their idiot savant coach, and STILL were seen as an also-ran in every way, shape and form. You think your little program can do better?

Baylor... you may get 8 or even 9 wins this year. You may go to a respectable bowl. Hell, you might even win that bowl, depending on who you play. But you are nothing more than a flash in the pan. Any measure of success that you have/will have this year will be short-lived.

All you have to know about our baptist friends in Waco is that Lace Dunn will be playing against the Ags this year.....after breaking the mother of his child's jaw.

And a female student got kicked out of school for posing in Playboy, oh the horrors!

Or that 2 fb players were arrested for being passed out from dope/alcohol.

No big deal, except for the way baylor handled it.

The good player is still playing.

The bad one, not so much.

We don't have to define baylor, they define themselves with their hypocrisy.

The "baylor line" prays, then drops fbombs on opposing fans.

And the actions by their administrators in the Lace Dunn case and the potsmokers basically embodies how their sports fans act too.

Baylor traded religion for athletes. No wonder Baptists are cutting funding for that once religious school in the ghetto.
