I wonder if this could be like China steel dumping. The gov subsidizes cost to allow their companies to undercut the US AI market.

Narrative is that the US chip restrictions imposed on China resulted in them getting creative with cheaper solutions.

Maybe it's both dumping and then pointing finger at US restrictions.

I'm just posting my own opinion before I go to sleep.

1) Imho, China is FOS and tonight's horrible futures are algos being activated.
2) Don't make any emotional decisions at the open and just let things play out.
3) If you can't be at your computer tomorrow, then at least have your mobile devices on you.
4) If you're in solid companies with GTC stop losses, then I'd consider canceling those orders because they're vulnerable to a stop-loss raid.


Look, everyone here is more than capable enough to make the best decisions for themselves, just don't let emotions overtake your ability to reason. Take a deep breath, and don't deal in absolutes or fear.

Thats what people said about yahoo and other similar tech stocks at ATH when they were still at the top of their games.

The only thing here is if China lied or not. Of course they did about something, but the item is how much did they lie and about what? If the costs are even within an order of magnitude of being correct, it completely changes the valuation of AI companies. Lower barriers to entry and more competition means lower prices, which means you never grow enough to justify these crazy valuations. (Specifically AI-centric companies)

I have only a tiny amount of cash right now, unfortunately, but I do believe the Chinese are full of BS and this is a dip worth buying into. What are people lining up to buy today, besides Nvidia???

I highly doubt China figured out how to achieve OpenAI/ChatGPT results using 3% of the total costs/compute power or whatever it is. The top tech companies in the world are working on this around the clock with the most advanced chips and billions of dollars to throw at the problem. Someone comes in and says "yeah this was kind of a side project and we just did it only using X amount of compute and $10MM" bull****

Also selling Costco which last weekend had an event with Reverend Al Sharpton defending their DEI programs.

What's the board thinking on MSTR? Don't have much, just 25 shares with an average cost basis of $217.04/share. I'm sitting on an overall gain of about 63 percent but it's getting chewed down quickly from the shares I added in November at $399.15/share. Should have set stops, but alas, here we are.
