yes, insanity. I guess it depends on if this is a trade or a forever hold and cost basis? if a trade, absolutely take profits, or set a stop. Even if it's a forever hold, I'd be selling some serious CC's on it.ac04 said:
NVDA trading at 38x sales and 200x earnings. closest comparison i have seen is tesla at its peak, which subsequently dropped ~70%. been holding NVDA for years now, can any of you talk me out of taking profits on most/all of it at this point? really itching to cash in, not sure what i'm missing that would make it a bad idea.
general rule of thumb, if you're wondering if it's time to take profit, it is.ac04 said:

I agree with the Saudis that the Biden people have manipulated the market and it's hypocritical to call out OPEC after the SPR fiasco.Farmer @ Johnsongrass, TX said:
Saudi Energy Minister... We'll balance the market 'whatever it takes'. I think that's a strong endorsement of U.S. energy producers..
Saudi is determined to drive out Crude Oil Futures manipulation. They'll get Brent to $90+ range in order to fund their economy and have some GDP "surplus" to grow their economy. They have some very ambitious economic developments already started. Saudi will not back off those projects.
I'm not all-knowing but I've collared a few of my top returners, selling call and buying put. I did it to buy me some more time to see how my portfolio and overall market shakes out over the year. As I get closer to year end and need to make decisions for taxes or want to rebalance and/or deploy that capital for something else I can.ac04 said:

If you're a long time holder and you're not taking profits...what's wrong with you?
What did you like? I'm looking at March 300 puts but premiums are hefty (obviously)sts7049 said:i bought put leaps the other dayac04 said:

Everyone would have a lot more to worry about if that happens than stocksProgN said:
And if China hits Taiwan with an EMP or worse next year?
I'd decrease my exposure and book some profits, and I have.
True, but I believe all of NVDA's chips are made in Taiwan. I can see China EMPing Taiwan and taking it over before the next election because we have a feeble president and NATO partners (France) have said publicly that they wouldn't interfere, which means they won't back us.EngrAg14 said:Everyone would have a lot more to worry about if that happens than stocksProgN said:

Yes, they play psychological warfare and have infiltrated from within for decades (and many countries). They will continue to grind away. and China knows that our current admin loves war, I doubt they touch Taiwan.$30,000 Millionaire said:
You guys are misreading the China thing. They're not us. They play the long game and slowly tighten the Vice. Look at HK.
They view these people as their people and they want their economy.
inching closer to a buy... I plan to just scalp commons.bmoochie said:
Looking at MARA and its in a little Darvish box since Mid April. Buying around $9 and then selling or doing CCs around $10 could be an easy 10-12% increase. I have $8.61 area as support so lose that I think is when I would cut. Seems to be bouncing between the 50 and 200 EMAs in this box as well.
