Yes, they play psychological warfare and have infiltrated from within for decades (and many countries). They will continue to grind away. and China knows that our current admin loves war, I doubt they touch Taiwan.
Economic takeover.
1. Offer to build or provide infrastructure or other services to a country.
2. Make the loan unpayable so they default.
3. China owns you/or the entity like an airport or shipping port it built.
4. Control transportation port to deny shipments form non-China friendly countries.
5. Said Non-China friendly countries go bankrupt without financial input from abroad.
6. Repeat step 1.

I may look back to this in a quarter or two and regret not taking some profits, but my overall exposure is quite small as they are only 5% of my portfolio.
Take out the papers and the trash, or you don't get no spendin' cash

This. I did business with a Chinese affiliate one time and they said skip the 3 and 5 year plan. Show us you 10 and 15 year plans.

I'm not sure, but I would like to get this board's take on the following video that aggiehawg posted over on F16. This sounds really bad for Disney, or is this video misconstruing the situation?



Synopsis is that Disney and Comcast are in arbitration over how much Disney owes Comcast for the last 1/3 of Hulu. Comcast is arguing Hulu is worth around 70 bil, Disney is arguing 27 bil. Either way, Disney is about to have to write a multi-billion dollar check to Comcast, and Comcast is trying to raise it further by arguing that Disney has been refusing to promote Hulu internationally so they don't have to pay Comcast as much.

That's a terrifying fish. My longest battle was vs. a 19" brown trout on the Madison River in MT. 30 minutes. I don't see how you bring in that monster in 43 minutes without a shotgun or harpoon.

Dark cloud cover pattern on XOM and CVX. Failed breakdown here would be bullish. Similar to failed evening star pattern on SPY last week that resulted in 10-12 pt breakout.

If follow through, would be bearish for oil, I think. Farmer is the expert, but I anticipated a stronger rally in oil today after yesterday announcement

XOM should get price support with dividend payout on 6/9. LOTS of shares will be purchased for dividend reinvestment program. The XOM buyback program is still purchasing 600k to 650k shares per day and will continue though the year. The crude oil shortage will show itself and UBS & GS still projecting $95 crude by the end of the year.

Seems like that's awful premium to sell puts that are 6mo out. There's basically no IV.

400 - 218.9 = 181.1. Ticker closed at 182.62 today.

yes, insanity. I guess it depends on if this is a trade or a forever hold and cost basis? if a trade, absolutely take profits, or set a stop. Even if it's a forever hold, I'd be selling some serious CC's on it.
on the other hand, I sold all my NVIDIA about 5 months ago to take profits..

so that turned out to be a pretty bad decision.
