I did pretty well today but I left some real opportunities on the table. Amazon most notably.

I was off to a really solid start (for me) in 2023 and this just wiped that out.
The thing is, I'm so numb to big wins and big losses and everything between... I just feel... nothing. I guess that's good, right!

I bought the 5 minute candle close above 125, thinking it was a breakout. Would have really negated a lot of damage if I'd honored my stop… which also had the tweezer top right above it. When those wicks showed up, my gut was screaming, man what a perfect short setup.
I lacked discipline today.
I don't share everything and I'd honestly gone a long time (for me) without doing something stupid like this, but I thought I'd share this just for my own accountability and to help some like me.

There's both a HS and IHS in the same chart.
I'm trying to figure out what you saw with TSLA to provide some input. In summary, I think you had FOMO (and why Tesla of all things???).
Moves like that require a reset especially when they're off the open. It also happened after a huge gap up and it was already up $6 from the prior close. When this happens you have to train yourself to say "I missed the move" and move on.
That said, Tesla may still go higher. Just not today.

I know more about statistics than i do finance and trading, so i see the same thing in that chart that I've been seeing for a while (and losing money): 2 points don't make a trend. The greater trend is still down, and tomorrow is going to give us a great short entry. However i suck at this game so the recession is probably over
