Good call on this one. Scalped a few SPY calls, not enough to make up for those XOM calls though
I don't know if you are still holding the XOM Calls. If you are....and it's your money....XOM rides up to div payout and a few days after payout date. The market action yesterday and today was similar to the ride up to Ex-Div Date some weeks back. It shook some Call holders out. Call holders who held got rewarded. For many quarters now, XOM rides up to earnings, rides up to Ex-Div, rides up to payout and rides up a few days after payout. That cycle has been in place for a long time. As I say, it's the most generous stock out there. OF COURSE, IT'S ALL GREAT UNTIL THE CYCLE STOPS. Will the ride-up cycles stop this div payout? I don't know, but the trend is your friend until it ain't. Good luck.

They're something akin to the king of retail. I read an article about them a few months ago and how folks were focused on them to gauge the economy, I don't remember it well. I think they pay a good div...maybe a Div King or Div Aristocrat. Also, I want to say someone in their leadership may have left recently.

I've been getting emails for days from The North Face and Vans about 25-40% off sales and stuff.

VF used to be even bigger in retail. They spun off their denim division (Wrangler, Lee, Rock & Republic) a couple of years ago. :Those are now under Kontoor brands, I think.

What is our bottom resistance point were looking at now?
I'm seeing 3905 then 3820 to fill that gap.

Question is how much of this move we retrace? 392.60 to 407.86 is a big move in a short time. That puts SPY Model T a click over 400 of those highs and lows hold here. Would imagine that retraces before go for a gap in the 3800s/380s.

EMAs.

5 - pink
8-green
12-white
21-yellow
50-blue
100-Orange
200-red

I used some for scalping but not daily. Just keep them all in one setup so I can change time frames and use for intraday scalps.

2 year treasury is now 15 basis points below where rates will be in 8 days. This is the first time this has happened during the Fed's current tightening cycle. For the past year, the 2 year treasury has listened to Powell and other members, and accelerated past where the next move was anticipated to go.

Translated: Market is telling the FED, "you don't have the balls to keep rates at next week's level for very long."

We are in a dangerous place for fiscal policy at the moment.
