Share only trades so far today. SPX option premium is too high to use.
I'd just set stops on them and see, but also hopefully you got good entries. So if your IWM puts were bought recently near tops, you can hold. Just keep in mind too a Santa rally could ruin those or stop you out. BUT you have plenty of time with the Jan expiration.Golf1 said:
Anyone have any advice on swinging options 2-4 weeks out during events/speeches? I typically don't like holding anything during earnings/speeches and lost my butt doing it during one of the recent reports. I just don't know if it's the right move to dump trades always before or just hold them out.
Currently have calls in VIX I plan on holding but I have puts in IWM that expire Jan 20 that I can't decide on.
Jumped into these.ProgN said:
Put NFLX on your watchlists. It looks like it's about to go.
call volume on that strike is now >32k.wanderer said:
Something odd going on with little 'ol UWMC. Huge volume spike this morning and over 20k 12/2 $4.50c bought.
Exited 50% of these on that little bounce for a modest gain. Going to hold the remainder at least through the JPow drama. EDIT at 12:16 - nevermind sold the rest. Good luck to you guys holding stuff.topher06 said:
Exited my SPY puts. May play a few calls now. This is purely guessing, but it seems JPow may have had his henchmen do the messaging this time.
No kidding, he isn't being doveish.Ag CPA said:
It's amazing how the markets react during these speeches, it has to be algos keying on words.

Thanks for posting this. I don't get to trade much, but when I saw your post I made a Model T buy. 396 calls for today at $1.47 and just unloaded at $3.30.wanderer said:
