$Spy 405Put/420Call Spread paid well on the put side. Flub up the stop on the call side, so less profitable than it could of have been.

Yes because I honestly don't understand what y'all are saying and I'm too old to want to learn it at this point. Just trying to make a stupid point about a Model Yugo versus Model T
( whatever that is). I did this back during the Covid drop and it seems appropriate again. I'll drop out, was just trying to participate. I do admire the knowledge on this board.

Yes sir the old Yugo fired up this morning and backfired a few times, is currently chugging out black smoke though.
Looking good so far for a big ol bite of VTI this afternoon.

The yugo schtick would be a lot less obnoxious if you checked in and told us when you were selling at the tops, but I've asked before and i believe you just buy and hold, so even if you are as good at picking bottoms as you think you are you'd still be better off dollar cost averaging

MSTR put premium is insane. Next week 200 puts are $2. Bitcoin would have to drop to around $25,000 for that to happen

Ah yes! I was thinking that was the model T reference haha. Is dropping in sidelined cash to VTI at 10% drops your thing? Or do you wait for larger drops?

i decided i was gonna try and scalp CHWY around 28, because it looked like it was in free fall. rode that sucker down for about 2k profit. i think i'm done for today.

this week was really good for me. made up for some of the bloodshed at the beginning of april, my win loss record on trades was 22-9. i'm still in the hole a little YTD, but progress is progress!

QE, anyone? Or, another half point move?

Growth Tech has taken a beating for a while now; however, I think the market has resorted to torture. Just a lot of bloat being trimmed. Value stocks, not so much pain, IMO.

So before the crowd grabs the pitchforks and marches in the streets about a bear market confirmed by 2 negative GDP quarters (only 1 reported to date...maybe), here's a nugget I am borrowing (copying) and I wish I was the person who figured it first, but I wasn't.

"First-quarter real GDP declined at a 1.4% annual rate due largely to the net exports figure. Real imports jumped at an annual rate of 17.7%. while real exports declined at a 5.9% annual rate. Excluding net exports, real GDP grew at a 1.7% annual rate. Real final sales to domestic purchasers, which provide a good reading on the economy, grew at 2.6% annual rate and have nearly matched their long-term growth rate over the last three quarters. Consumer spending and business investment is holding up well despite the decline in fiscal stimulus. First-quarter economic headwinds included the January Omicron wave, the war in Ukraine, and he start of Federal Reserve monetary tightening."

(Bold emphasis was added by me. I think this is the real story. Someone else might think it's polishing a turd.)

With all that being said, there's still a one-in-three chance of a recession due to the Fed's miscalculation. Yet, with corporate profits being high, and share buybacks taking place, the outlook is favorable and not dismal.

Going back to my hole to finish my county tax protest evidence. Gotta finish it today.

Give it hell boys, it's your only chance on earth.

Several of you might not have been around during the COVID downturn.

He's just referencing the Model Yugo as a play on words to the Model T. He has no specific levels, but, when the broader Market goes down, he cranks up the Model Yugo and buys VTI or VOO.

I remember the Model Yugo being cranked up at DJI 18K...in the same manner...and he made out like a bandit.

If you can't laugh every once in a while, you're doing it wrong.

Exactly it's just a play on words because I didn't understand what a Model T in investing was and the Yugo car was a POS car back in the day. During Covid once the Dow dropped about 10% off all time highs I started buying VTI. I bought more about every 5% drop from there. Think my last buy might have been around Dow 19K.

This Model Yugo bought around S&P 4250 so my next buy is about now. If we drop another 5% or so I'll buy again.
Long term account with sideline cash for this. And I do dollar cost average every two weeks in a 401k account.

I felt some childlike innocence that I havent felt in quite some time. Sympathy towards an old head trying to fire up a cherished memory only to be barbed by a whippersnapper who had heard enough of these lamentations which were apropos of nothing. Glad to see that it was merely a play on words.
