The 350s for me are more of an additional hedge not as much for trading. Almost sacrificial. If I am trading SPY I go less than 5 and mainly ATM or 1 to 2 OTM.

Edit: I should add that if I am trading/scalping I also never go that far out date wise. I stay within 30 days and mostly weekly.

Turned a profit on my 4/1 fruit 123 calls, and rolled it into 4/1 123 puts.

Now I find myself in the strange position of wanting AAPL to go down (at least until Monday) after months of willing it upwards with every ounce of my being.

So are most of my monthly insurance premiums. Until I need to phone a friend at USAA.

This is a small % of my account and doesn't go to zero. At least I don't let it get there.

Until SKEW relaxes somewhat and RSI cools down I will learn from past mistakes.

not trying to be critical, just offering another perspective of the current situation. No issues buying puts, the timing looks wrong to me though.

to throw another perspective in, 3985 is the ATH from March (resistance) and we are now looking very overbought.

and if we don't punch through 3985 this time to 4k, probably looking at a 394 pullback or more. (I'm paraphrasing Adam Mancini some too).

SPX double top look to it now

For Vix I actually bought spreads. Bought $24 and $26, sold $30. I really like those 26/30 spreads. I'll have to look back at what filled on the SRTY. I've learned my lesson about using SPY puts or inverse to hedge high beta retail crap.

Interesting TOS feature I'm tinkering with is the volumeprofile study on the intraday charts.....shows volume levels, and the Point of Control, also value areas.....

Downward trendline on QQQ back from mid February high will break today if we close above 316 or so (I'm using TDA mobile as a guess).

My hunch is we sell off more today and attempt to somewhat test this. My hope is we clearly stay above, by having a nice finish or even with a sell off, and time to start a little bull run.

I think any close above 318.5 is good for continuation tomorrow. That ~321ish is a ***** for the QQQ. I really hope they crack the 50DMA by tomorrow because no chance in hell I'll hold any exposure over a three day weekend right now.
