This has probably been covered..

But for you options guys.. are you always looking to get out at a certain % or is it a timing thing for you? (or both?). Is there ever a point in time for every option that you won't let it get passed before it goes to exp?

I seem to have a decent grasp on getting in at the right time, but my exits could use some work.

Just an observation i have; the oil stocks stayed flat to down a little today. While likely driven more by crude prices, i kind of expect to see them catch up if the market holds at these levels.

I bought a SPY 303/304 call spread for 8 cents at 2:40p or so. Completely forgot SPY trades till 3:15, I sold it for 23 cents at 2:58p. Had I held it to 3:14p it'd have been worth 78 cents.

Well I sold my jpm calls yesterday when stock was around 94.50... used the profits and bought BA calls. Hope that makes up for the early sale.

My 93c I sold a day or two ago for about 60% profit were about 7x this morning, I believe.

Edit: I bought at 1.15... sold at 1.70 and 2.00. They are 8.75 right now.
