Gotta close that way. So many late day presses back higher during this run. If you doubled from entry on SPY Puts I buy the $326.50 CALLS on the cheap just in case. Up 60 cents on a 30 cent Put - spend 30 cents on a close call expiring Monday so if its a trick you make out like a bandit and if not that 60 cents turns into $3-4 on a true reversal drop.

Corrected to $326.50 at 30 cents just hit there again

If it heads up above yesterdays high then today was the classic "tricksy" new low before taking off talked about all the time. I do like the long tail today.

The premium pop is larger the further out but so is the cost to enter.

ZIOP is also at that same conference on thursday.

What ratio were the puts to calls? Were the Puts at the bid, meaning likely selling naked puts to hide the total volume they are scoring on the move.

The put trades this high up would only make sense for this because the call premium isn't enough to make a spread trade plausible.

Obviously if it's one-sided to calls then it's paramount to make sure the calls were being bought at the ask and not sold, as covered calls, at the bid. At $.50 premium I could see selling a ton of those if you bought shares down here because you are lowering your long hold price by 50 cents OR adding 50 cents if the stock did pop above the strike, for well over 100% gain.

That is a great strategy on a stock you like but it's terrible for everyone who buys calls thinking it signified a lock that it's about to run.

200 was the volume on $6 calls at 1/17
but 767 volume on 5.50 puts

lots of open interest in 5.50 calls and a little less in 7.50 calls - not sure if interest matters.

I cashed out everything last week bc I'm super paranoid holding over the weekend, but I'll buy back in the first dip.

Had the 1/10 90c and 95c that paid big and 1/17 100c that was a pretty penny too.

Valuable advice! I started trading options, almost a year ago, after reading this thread daily. First options trade was a homerun. Did a lot of watching and a little trading and grew a little bit. Then in June, I missed a week of work and spent it trading. I hit several home runs. I then spent the next couple of months swinging for the fences. And found my account down 20-25% from what I had put in it. I finally quit swinging for the fences every time and have learned how important that discipline that Irish mentioned is. And my account has grown as a result.
