My crypto holdings and trading activity are larger than my Equity holdings/trading activity now. First time ever. It certainly wasn't a plan of mine for that to happen, but I guess it came naturally.

All I'm trading these days is VIX/SPY and the occasional adds to WWR and VALE. I still hold VEON and net free shares of AUVI.

Awhile back I sold some MARA 5/21 35/25 bull put spreads for $3.50. As you probably know, that didn't go well.

Do I need to buy this spread back before expiration at ~9.50? or will the entire thing just expire worthless?

ive got similar I just rolled them out to December. Kick the can down the road, collect some more premium

I get the process of rolling, but rolling that same spread to Dec looks to cost money instead of collecting more premium. What am I missing?

I did mine last week or maybe the week before so you might have to go further for the same benefit. Or sell the long put and take assignment of the short. Then sell calls far out at your break even to get some premium recoup.

Gotcha......would have been smart to do it before 5/10. That's when things really tanked.


I guess back to the original question, if I'm not going to roll it, do I need to buy this spread back before expiration at ~9.50? or will the entire thing just expire worthless?

I think it may have been you Foggy who brought up SafeMoon at one point and i just saw that Portnoy just put out something about going in on it so could be atleast fun to watch what happens

I wasn't the one who brought it to the board, but I did mention I threw a bone at it just in case it was pumped like a lot of other alt coins/tokens.

Ha, now that Portnoy is on it, I may need to get ready to take half off the table. I was close to 100% return anyway.

IMO consolidation in the 414-415 zone.

I vote for gap up into 416s, fight out 417.50s and close above 418.50s.

Bulldog,

If you are long term (buy and hold forever) investing make sure you have a plan in place for cutting losses.

If you are short term (anything else) investing, don't let it take more than 7% of your initial outlay from you.

Period.
