While I'm a total noob at this, I sold out of all airline positions today. While they've still got quite a way to go to get to pre-COVID levels, I think it's going to be quite a while before it gets there. The time to buy in was about 2 weeks ago. The run up since then has been crazy. JMO

It was only good for an explosion move. Now below $106 which has been key support. It's back to that right now but any fading is not good from here. I had a bunch of shares at $107 and already sold a massive $100 July 17 covered call for $13.50.

Either will be net $95 area or make $6.50/share profit. Not ideal but not willing to sit on it and refuse to lose money on I

You could do what I do and sell July covered call. On $112 holdings I'd accept the fact that your $7 below and look to make $113 or recapture at least this $7. That would be a June 19 $108 covered call for $5 or a July 17 $110 for $7.50. I like going out longer and capturing more premium on a trade gone wrong. Those July's will get you $117.50 out or reduce your $112 holding price to $105.

So why take a loss???

P.S. See if it recaptures $106 before you make any moves. The beauty of going out to July is you won't have big movement against you by waiting right now.

I don't like losses when they have options. At any rate no need to take the hedge yet as we are back above $106. A $10k position or a $1M position. Learn to trade them as close to the same. Learn to not take losses when avoidable or strategies clean them up with a profit at the end.

It's hard I understand. When I take on a new portfolio and start positioning longs I have a much more difficult time than a established portfolio. I even have to force myself to obey the disciplines that achieve long term huge gains.

MU has had a lot of $50C on the 6/12 and 6/19 as well

Also, HPE seems to be at the top of its Darvas Box. It has also had high red volume at each of the last several sessions. I still have 11c covers, so is it a good idea to look to short at the close of it doesn't breakout past 10.50?

Basically end up with a rate arbitrage of 3.55%.

10% * 28% tax rate less 3.62% interest.
