They sold off into the close, massive selloff to end the day. No traders wanted to stay long into tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be worse. Tons of announcements are going to come tomorrow about schools/universities closed next week because they're going to want/need to give people notice. That + the fed not dropping trillion dollars into the market + not having any idea what will happen over the weekend with Coronavirus is going to make tomorrow a very red day, in my opinion.

As a novice, what can I do right now AH to bet that tomorrow is a down day?

Yeah like I said, stepping back and hopefully no one on here has take a bath, but as someone who wasn't around for 08, this is a market period that will be talked about. So really interesting to watch and see what's going on at the moment.

exited 50% of my VIX 4/1 $80 calls today, I think we still get a spike before it peaks. Used fair amount of earnings to buy 11/20 VIX $45 puts.
