The talking heads don't seem to be saying that was what caused it. Oh well.. it was nice to take advantage of some volatility.
I have 6 figures in covered calls out to next Friday. I'll either become cash rich in the accounts, if called out, or bank some premiums. I don't like rips.

It was option burn selloff. The monthly options expire tomorrow so it was a last minute burns. Happens regularly.

BTW Model T on the S&P was 3371 mean average from high to low. Once again telling me right where to sell the S&P Calls. If you don't Model T - you don't trade smart.

Was holding some calls on NET that expire tomorrow and was under water until today's huge bounce. Today's action swung me all the way to a 100% profit, so I sold the calls and booked the gain. Thrilled with the victory and grateful (AGAIN) for this board's help identifying this one a few weeks ago.
My question is....should I have done something differently (other than just sell the calls) to get into the "net free" position or was I limited due to the impending expiration?
(sorry for the rookie question, but trying to figure out what situations lead to net free holdings)

if at 100%, sell half the calls. The half you remain holding would be net free.
Right, but only for one more day and then the remaining calls expire worthless. In other words, is the only way to ride net free for a while if you have time until expiration? Was trying to think of a way to convert the calls to shares and be net free. Maybe I'm overthinking this...GreasenUSA said:

That's my DBX, I bought a couple puts in case the stock tanks. I had grpn net free, bought the puts for .20 and the puts went up 5x
They don't expire until end of day.
