Agreed. I'm all for more defense…just make the outfield bigger. Everyone but pitcher and catcher should be able to post up anywhere.

Unless there is baseball in 2027, we are getting nothing for Pena and he has already played his last game for us. Brown still has some value for 2028, which means we will probably refuse to even listen to trade offers for him.

I get the idea of trying to get more offense in a game. Having a pitching duel is fun, but having 3 batters come up and ground out 3 times, each inning, for about 5 innings, is boring.

I get the shift and I support the idea of making sure you have 2 players on each side of the diamond.

But for outfielders? Eh...I could see something about them having to line up either 'in line' with an infielder OR lined up in a gap FROM the infield.

Like CF HAS to be lined up with 2nd base (can be forward, backwards, whatever).

LF/RF HAS to be lined up in the gap between 3rd/SS and 1st/2nd. So if you shift the infield, the outfield shifts as well. So you could end up with a LARGE empty space in the RF outfield (say the infield shifts to LF side); if you are good as a hitter, you pull it and get a 2B or 3B hit.

How about just let defensive players line up wherever TF they want?

Hitters can either learn to hit it somewhere else or hit it to straight to the fielders. Their choice.

This America's past time and here capitalism is king. Stop with the over regulation and let the market correct itself.
