Heard today the Rangers are willing to listen on MacKenzie Gore and Jacob Latz.

There's still a gap in Jose's favor vs Allen in offensive production for sure but it's not wider than the Pacific Ocean like it was in Jose's prime . The goal in my mind is get Jose' back closer to his offensive prime before the playoffs . Some would say Jose' can best work thru it by getting more PT but given his age I'm not so sure .


Barring a career ending injury or some other tragedy Altuve is getting to 3000 hits and they will all be as an Astro imo.

To clarify my last post - both players are being discussed with Stowers being the more likely of the two.

A package to land Sandy and Stower will be large. It will hurt. But at least both players are multi year types.

Stower would be the primary left fielder and back up 1B vs RHP.

I hear people saying springer. I get the nostalgia but hasnt he barely played OF this year? That would be too many DH guys

Might get CW some off days at 1B as well tho but yes his primary value to the Astros would be as an offensive + from the OF with probably some improvement defensively as well.

I'm going to say we deal the farm for a replacement level OF and entice an almost 46 year old Rich Hill out of retirement

I think the point is that George has played 7 innings of outfield this season and was only part-time last year.

The annual.....

Hader has accrued 1 fWAR in 23 innings.

If you prorate that over 65 innings that would be 2.8 WAR this year. His career high is 2.6 in 2018 (81.1 IP) and 2021 (58.2 IP)

If you gave him 2018-style innings, that 3.5 WAR from a reliever. Insane.

Eovaldi has not been good this year. I mean, if we want an innings eater that will give up 4 runs per game and cost a #20 prospect, sure. But if they want anything of value, forget it.

not really. sandy is club option for 2027..... and we know that aint happening

Something to keep in mind: The MLB prospect rankings differ quite a bit from how the organization views their prospects.

Outside of Neyens and Alvarez, I'd be fine with trading any of our other prospects. Let's be honest, it's not like there is much there, and most prospects don't pan out anyway.
