Astros Bingo Update 5-14-2026

Reason to Smile:
Christian Walker hit his 10th bomb last night. He's on pace for 37 homers and 107 RBI.
Cam Smith stole his 6th base, giving the Astros 17 steals for the year, just one behind Jose Ramirez of the Indians who has 18.
We are currently on pace for only 99 losses.

Reasons to Barf:
Since April 26th, Yordan's batting average has dropped 49 points, his slugging percentage has dropped 144 points, and his OPS has dropped 191 points.
If you picked Verlander to go > 8 wins (like I did), he got put on the 60-day DL Saturday and won't be back until at least May 31.

Question of the Day: Is it too early to start calling Braden Shewmake the new Wade Boggs now that he's hitting .364?

And now, the newest sensation, sweeping the nation.

Day 4 spotlight: txags92 A wonderful year, 92. I graduated from high school.

Current Bingo Score: 2
Place: Tied for 3rd with 18other people
Squares Achieved: Rangers suck and 6-game losing streak
Predicted Astros record: 84-78. Just need to finish the year 67-51 (.568)

Squares that look like future wins:
Diaz < .275 I've been tempted to declare this square a win since opening day.
Cole > 10 HR technically he's only on pace for 7, but just came up and is playing great
Loperfido < 100 G damn you to hell, Astros' medical staff!
ERA > 3. 86 I'm not making this up, the team would need to throw 167-2/3 consecutive scoreless innings right now to get the ERA down from 5.54 to 3.86.

Squares that are technically still humanly possible:
80-84 wins Current pace 63
Playoffs! - Everyone love an underdog
Pena > .290 assuming he's still alive
Jake > .280 assuming he's still alive, also
Yordan <125 G but then everyone will hate you for predicting it

Squares that haven't aged so well:
Hunter > 14 W right now Hunter isn't even above 14 innings.
Imai < 3.50 ERA Imai rapidly becoming the Brock Osweiler of the Astros. Highly-sought after, big contract, really terrible.

Man, it sure was nice to see the boys celebrate on the field last night.

Well deserved and well earned win.

So you're saying there's a chance...

I love when announcers are extremely confident and then MLB review says, "Not so fast, my friends."

Happy for Lance last night. For his sake, I'm hoping he can find some consistency.

I did that math 3 times to make sure it was correct because it sounded so insane.

Looking at Lance's #s - he needs a shorter leash.

OPS by Times Facing Opponent
1st Time: .757
2nd Tme: .896
3rd Time: ..943

OPS by Pitch Count
1-25: .789
26-50: .694
51-75: .846
76-100: 1.147

I know the lack of starters going deep has been a major issue, but if we want effectiveness from him, Joe needs to keep the outings shorter.

Tough times in the ticket office, apparently.

And Lance needs to be more efficient and hammer the zone. Quit wasting so many pitches.

It's funny…I last had season tickets in 2019. Starting 3 years ago, I started getting emails May-Sept about a credit I have on my account from when I had season tickets. The past 2 years, I've used that credit to get tickets for my son's birthday at the end of July. But the following year, I get the same email from the Astros. I'll probably just keep using it for my son's birthday.

Astro related because I'm assuming we play the Pirates at some point this year.

Livvy Dunne on the Tonight Show. For complete transparency, I said "JESUS CHRIST" very loudly within the first 2 seconds of seeing her.

I disagree. You can't keep taxing this bullpen with guys like Imai in the rotation. He needs to be able to keep it together between 75-100 pitches or he shouldn't be a starter.
