Our football team sucks.

October is by far my favorite month of the year. Fall is in the air. Everything is still green. Haven't fallen back yet, college football, baseball playoffs, crisp mornings, you cannot ask for more.

Now watching all the sports shows means squat and we are in a rebuild on all fronts.

With all my teams except for the Chicago Bears being ass (thank God for Case Keenum), I have zero excuse for not getting into the deer stand and filling the freezer.

If there is a lockout or strike next year, are the contracts essentially on hold, or does that year count?

All the managers Altuve has played for - I think I'd rather have Bo Porter than Espada!

Brad Mills (20112012) Altuve's first manager; he debuted mid-2011 under Mills.
Tony DeFrancesco (interim, 2012) Took over for the final 41 games of 2012 after Mills was fired.
Bo Porter (20132014).
Tom Lawless (interim, 2014) Managed the final 24 games of 2014 after Porter was fired
A.J. Hinch (20152019) Led the team to the 2017 World Series title.
Dusty Baker (20202023) Led the team to the 2022 World Series title.
Joe Espada (2024present) Current manager. Pulled a starting pitcher on accident. Wasted 3 hitters in one at bat by mismanaging pinch hitters.

I've been wondering about that. If there really isn't a 2027 season does Pena become a FA when the lockout ends? Is walkers contract over? Etc etc. or do they resume their arb status/contracts as if nothing ever happened?

If there are any games played at all I expect MLB to agree to a healthy part (possibly all) of the contracts. And of course everyone would get full credit for service time.

If there is no season at all? Who knows. I guess that can be negotiated into the next CBA.

Can't believe this was the same Espada that pulled out that miracle in the 2023 ALCS Game 5

I guess that was just dumb luck because he never reached that level ever again in his tenure

Im not as mad today as I was in the 2024 wild card. I actually thought that team could make a run given how hot they ended the season.

This time my hope was just win this series. Had zero expectations of making it past the ALDS.

Just sucks this series really wasn't even competitive.

Who's on your wish list? I would think a young fiery guy would be a good fit, not a retread. Maybe Correa as player/manager?
