He's being difficult?!? Nooooo. /s

He's got roots here. I assume he wants to be somewhere where he's in competition for the 9th inning, a city he likes, and somewhere that wants to extend him. That shrinks the options significantly.

I want a hot blonde and a Lamborghini, but at my age and not wanting to spend my 401k on one, that kinda rules that out.
Drew Rasmussen has agreed to a 2-year $8.5 million contract extension with an option for a 3rd year that can take the deal to $28 million. Congrats, @Drew_Rasmussen_ ! #Rays pic.twitter.com/qBr4QpyqRv

They are just buying low now so they can sell high at the trade deadline.EastCoastAgNc said:Drew Rasmussen has agreed to a 2-year $8.5 million contract extension with an option for a 3rd year that can take the deal to $28 million. Congrats, @Drew_Rasmussen_ ! #Rays pic.twitter.com/qBr4QpyqRv

Rays spending some money
For sure. I completely understand why he wants to stay here and is being super picky. No ill will towards Ryan. I was voicing I personally believe the no-trade clause is holding up a trade for Ryan more than last year's performance, which makes him be difficult about the situation. Again, completely understand why. I'd honestly be doing the same as him.Farmer1906 said:

I was also trying to poke fun at you a little bit for not mentioning the no-trade clause Came out harder than I wanted.txags92 said:
FWIW, my comment about him being the best in the league was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek as a poke at those who respond angrily any time anybody mentions that he has declined a bit from his peak. He undoubtedly had a great run here, but I agree with you that a change of scenery would probably do him some good. He didn't seem very happy here last year, so I would hope that he would put his happiness in the mix in addition to the other considerations when he decides how hard to push for the other things he wants when scuttling potential deals. We could for sure use his arm in the bullpen, but not if he is going to sit around and sulk every time he gets called on to pitch the eighth or in non-high leverage situations.
On the podcast, https://t.co/IzBknQM6Ik @JakePeavy_22 recalled when HOF candidate Billy Wagner was asked for how to pitch to Ichiro. pic.twitter.com/wzWAoCRPVQ

Taylor Ward played on the '79 Angels with Nolan and Don BaylorEastCoastAgNc said:Might just be noise, but I've heard some talk that the Angels might be moving Taylor Ward before the arbitration numbers get exchanged this week. The #Royals have been interested in the past, and he's definitely a fit. Just something to keep an eye on.
