For just the 2nd time in franchise history, the Orioles have 35 or more wins by June 1st. '97 O's had 36. Yet another impressive stat for this team.

Giants are in black uniforms today. Good for us.

Orioles are the first team to get to 20 wins on the road. They are resilient! And I'm starting to come around on the Hicks acquisition. He's not half bad!

Back on track against the royals!

I think the MLB should give us another team in Oakland's place so we can get Cowser and the rest in the majors already. This is getting crazy how good all these kids are already and they just continue to dominate triple A and even double A. Watching other teams promote straight from double A at times seems like a foreign concept.

I think Baltimore could field 2 rosters with batting and fielding talent good enough for both to make the postseason. Not pitching of course, but how many teams could fill those 16 position players as well as Baltimore right now?

Also, I love how exciting it is to watch Cano and Bautista. I'm an offense guy and in baseball when the O's pitch, I'm usually just watching to see what the offense needs to do or getting angry for the pitching wiping out what the offense just did. But this is really fun. Sandman level stuff...

Just popping in as an Astros guy to say I love me some Camden Yard. I went to an Orioles/Arlington game back in 1996 and that's when I came to the conclusion it was time to move on from the Dome.

I then moved up to Fredericksburg, VA and often bypassed Washington to go to Oriole games. Even made it a business event one time.

Wish y'all the best, except against the Astros. I hope to never face Baltimore in the playoffs, my team does not handle your team well. LOL.

If we are serious about a run at the world series this season, we will have to make a lot of moves before the deadline. We can't go into October with Perez, Baker, Akin or Bauman in the pen. Perez and Baker for sure. Trade for at least 2 long to mid relievers. One must be a lefty.

Post season baseball will eat us alive unless our starters can go 7 deep for 5 or 7 consecutive games. Twice.

I think the whole team is about to start complaining of back soreness soon.

I hate how the mantra right now is that this is about injuries. It really isn't. This is about where we honestly are at this point. .500 as long as everything goes smoothly.

Our starting pitching has finally started to play to it's expected level and it has exposed our mid to long bullpen for what it actually is, a disaster.

Plus, Hall and Grayson needed to come up big this season and they haven't and that's further exposed who we actually are.

Now, if the plan is to draft and develop all of these position players (especially up the middle players) so that we can pick and choose farm talent to trade for pitching help, ok. But, this will be my one real beef with Elias if that's not the plan. We have ignored pitching talent and done nothing but just expected every pitcher on our roster to play above their known talent. I think they went to that well too many times.

A long way to go and plenty of time to address the cracks, but I fear there will be a similar approach this trade deadline to the trade deadline last year.

Fear not, we are most likely following the same model that Astros followed. We will trade for the big arms. Way smarter to do that. Health is a huge risk for pitchers and many top arms simply don't pan out. Look at how Jack Leiter is progressing or remember Kumar Rocker? Way easier to predict hitting, defense and athleticism and when you're in the business of not missing on draft picks, the wise move is drafting the best player available and moving pieces later to get the pieces you need to field a championship roster. We've already made extremely savvy moves to get guys like Cano, Povich, Bradish, Kremer, Seth Johnson, Bautista.

I mean, no need to worry about the direction of getting pitching when most of our pitching staff has come via trade.

I feel better already.

I'm going to go ahead and call my shot here. I think we see Ohtani join the orioles near August 1st. I think we trade Urias, Norby or Ortiz and Mountcastle to acquire him. They are log jammed anyway and we work on resigning him and go all in on the ten years for multiple World Series wins. Just have a feeling that kind of deal gets done.

Ok I am booking this as fact.
