Should have Hakeem do the first pitch. Cuz we need some Clutch City tonight.
Life is better with a beagle
I was involved in six Game 7's in my baseball career as an executive (was 5-1 and you all know which one we lost). There is nothing like it. Enjoy it for what it is... the ultimate drama and the chance to create incredible memories. And go @astros !!!

Mike Trout has to just not care, right? The The The Angels Angels have been so bad for the entirety of his career and he has just continued to stay on the roster and get paid to not win anything except some MVPs. Never so much as a whisper as to whether he was calling for any kind of change or trade or anything. Is his contract that iron-clad? $426.5 milly is a lot of money but damn.bearkatag15 said:Trout in the building in Philly tonight

A tradition like no other... Mike Trout attending NFL games in October instead of playing in baseball games.

Mario Elie. Kiss of death.
I'd say leave him down in the order and give him specific instructions to take all pitches until he gets a first called strike and then swing all out on the next few pitches that he thinks he can reach. It's obvious he his doubting himself and has no confidence by looking at his body language and half swings. It's awful. If you give him specific instructions it might be just enough to get him out of his funk.Boiling Denim said:
Hell I'd move Tucker into the 2 hole. Maybe it'll be a shock to the system and snap him out of it.
Brantley can get the ABs with guys on in the 6 spot
I looked over and I thought Joe Klein was gonna cry lol.Mathguy64 said:The Porkchop Express said:

Some changes I'd make is getting rid of the ivy on the batter's eye and just do a black paint. Expand it to the right and get rid of like half of the Budweiser seating area. Also lose the logo on the batters eye.czechy91 said:
So what to do about our noticeable decline of run production at home? Players have complained about the batters eye and the Astros front office has made some minor modifications. I hear what the skeptic say - it shouldn't matter since both teams use the same batters eye. My reply is so what! If that's what the players are complaining about then you have to take it seriously and do all that you can to improve batting conditions.
My solution would be to replicate Arlington's GLF batter's eye down to the smallest detail. Same dimensions and same background color. Who cares if we lose a few Budweiser landing zone bar stools or the patio. Those modifications have been fairly recent and the batters eye has been shrinking to the point hat it's affecting play. This should be corrected.
It is extremely small compared to the majority of other ballparks. Also there is a lot going on to the right of it. Need to simplify the sightlines for the batters.texasaggie2015 said:
The batters eye was nothing but a poor excuse imo
But I do think I'm with the poster above you that if I'm the owner, I make the batter's eye much, much bigger.texasaggie2015 said:

Yep. And if the players have really been harping on it, then it's in their head and 100% mental. And Dusty needs to be a leader that snaps them out if it. Hasn't happened though.texasaggie2015 said:

Doesn't matter if it's real or not. Once those guys thought it was a problem, it was.texasaggie2015 said:

Agreed! They have been greedy trying to maximize advertising dollars to the teams detriment. Lose the damn Budweiser patio and expand the batters eye the full length of where the Budweiser patio is now located. Also paint it black to dark green to maximize contrast between the wall and base ball.bearkatag15 said:Some changes I'd make is getting rid of the ivy on the batter's eye and just do a black paint. We can call it the new and improved Torchy's Tacos sponsored batters eye. You happy now?The Porkchop Express said:
I don't care how much we suck at home, I'm not going to sit here and let someone besmirch the good name of Torchy's Tacos.

This will surprise many people. But for all the crap we get about the short porch that is the crawford boxes, Minute Maid is way down the list of 32 parks in runs scored. 20th out of 32.Wabs said:
So the batter's eye affects our hitters (who play half their games here) more than our opponents? Interesting.
No chance. And based on how Javier has been with Maldy catching him lately, I don't want Diaz to catch over Maldy.Jet Black said:Sher Thing said:

He won't but yep. Chances Diaz gets the start at C?

I agree with this ... However, if we fall behind by 2 or 3 runs by the 4th or 5th inning, we need to make the change earlier so Diaz gets 2-3 ABs instead of just the 1 AB. That change should happen IMO, but it absolutely will not. Should have happened last nightbearkatag15 said:No chance.
