I know I phrased it wrong, but we typically wear them on the road in the playoffs.

The pressure has always been on us. We're the kings, losing to them is embarrassing.

Those losers are just happy to be here.

So, what's the bullpen strategy today if Framber looks like he's struggling early? Let's say the bases are loaded with one out in the second. Do you pull him and go to a bullpen game, knowing you might also have to have bullpen game tomorrow if we don't win? Or do you hope Framber can figure it out and if he doesn't you know you've got Game 7 against the Rangers' pen?

My whole life as a Stros fan we always came up short. Atlanta and then St Louis ruining our hopes… and then 2017 and beyond and now we're the big dogs… lol I still have all the memories of those years of it ending poorly.

Just warming up for tonight. Hope we only need them in celebration, but they will be there just in case.

Today, unfortunately, many Americans have good reason to fear that they will be victimized if they are unable to protect themselves. And today, no less than in 1791, the Second Amendment guarantees their right to do so. - Justice Samuel Alito 2022

I expect Framber to throw more cutters tonight and fewer sinkers. His sinker only had an 8% whiff percentage guys last time out. The Rangers made contact on 11 of 12 swings on the pitch and 4 of their guys were on the pitch. When he started throwing his cutter more, things settled down.

If Framber is I trouble early a pen arm comes in. The France takes over until he's inefficient. The hen hopefully normal back end guys

Very much disagree. He throws the sinker to induce contact on the ground. It's not really meant to be a whiff pitch. The cutter can be nasty but if he doesn't throw it perfectly, it ends up in the 10th row of the Crawford boxes. The cutter is 21% of his HRs yet 13% of his pitch mix.

We went down 0-2. I'm pretty sure the pressure has been on us the past three games, so what does it matter?

Absolutely. You can't let this get away early. We might as well get 2 innings out of Abreu while we're at it. He's likely out the next game or two anyway.

I get that, but the whiff % was lower than normal on that pitch. That makes me believe they were looking for it. Semien ripped the first one through for a single in the first pitch, and it was 6 inches below the zone. Seager hit a bloop off of it. Two more hours in the first put good swings on it. I'm not suggesting to abandon the pitch. He needs it, but I think he will not use it as much.

In game two, we had eight hard hit balls off Eovaldi, with another five against their pen. Squaring up the ball wasn't an issue. Getting the timely hit or a little good fortune was. By contrast, the Rangers had nine hard hit balls.

If we can continue to have quality at bats, especially with runners on base, I think we can hang some crooked numbers and cruise to a comfortable victory.

I don't even know why the Astros and Rangers even bothered to build retractable roof stadiums.

I brought this up before, but the cutter is such a mystery. .180 BA, .170 xBA, .323 xSLG, .246 xwOBA, highest whiff and put away rate of any of his pitches...and yet it's rated as a worse pitch by run value.

Conversely his sinker has the highest expected stats against across the board, but has the best run value. I guess it's all about the associated launch angle with each pitch?

It is like have a moon roof for your car. Great idea, probably never use it and after 5 years you are worried that if you open it you may never be able to close it again.

Do we know if we're wearing the obese Framber specials or the road orange jerseys?

The Orange jerseys aren't a road uniform. They're worn at both just depends if it's white or grey pants

They'll probably wear Frambers blues today and if there is a game 7 (hopefully not), they'll wear the orange. CJ usually seems to pitch better in the orange jersey.
Wouldn't be surprised if they stick with the orange tonight. Framber wore orange 4 out of his last 7 starts in the regular season. 2 on the road and 2 at home. Even wore the orange billed caps with the orange jersey once, which looked a little odd. Team was 0-2 at home and 2-0 on the road in those games.

I held the belief that if we won game 5, it would take pressure off Framber and we'd see good Framber ... I'm sticking with that and Framber gonna take us through 7 today!

Veteran presence who won't try to do too much in a big moment at the top of the order most likely.

Probably because Brantley was 2-3 off Eovaldi in game two and getting traffic on the bases in front of our big bats is a good thing. This is the lineup I expected to use tonight.
