If anything the error was on the play of the line drive which should've been an out so giving him a hit makes no sense at all.
This is actually the most preposterous of the outcomes.
Series like the Arizona one make it obvious he was hurt for much of the season. All arms and no popW said:
the final numbers on Jose Abreu per baseball reference...
-0.1 WAR --- almost got into positive territory at the end, but not quite
OPS .680 -- the lowest of his career by more than 100 points
OPS+ 87
his strangest split:
when batting with the bases empty....OPS of .564
when batting with men on base.........OPS of .812

A buddy of mine sent me an audio clip of the Mariner broadcasters during the final out yesterday and one of them actually says "Can I be honest? I've never wanted a Mariner pitcher to give up a 2 run home run more in my life."
I'm not sure how to embed the clip and apparently it's on mlb.com but I don't have an account.
What f***ing lunatics. With all the broadcasters who get fired for some pretty tame stuff this is pretty egregious but I'm sure their collection of freak fans were probably thrilled to hear it.
Even the Mariners radio announcers wanted Seattle to lose the game 💀 pic.twitter.com/3wvAvLrxBr

When MLB and the players' union settled the lockout in the spring of 2022, the new collective bargaining agreement allowed teams to sell advertising on their jerseys for the first time. But another little-noted provision also allowed for ads to appear on batting helmets during the postseason.

I could NEVER see TK or Blummer saying some **** like that. Wow.
Yeah you didn't choke, you just lost 3 of 4 games to end the season including being shutout where you couldn't scratch a single run the last 3 innings off minor league pitching.cone said:Stop using the word “choke.” Just stop. It makes you look bad.

this guy is having a tough time
I don't think you do away with it, but maybe add some time. I think the pitch clock was a HUGE success this year. Agree playoffs should be treated differently, but I don't think you completely get rid of it.FrioAg 00 said:
Pitch clock absolutely improved the game for the majority of fans. I'm just not convinced it belongs in the playoffs.

And now from south Oklahoma:
3 things I just learned whilst perusing the Arlington thread:
1. Houston fans are the scum of the earth, easily the worst fans in the country, maybe in the history of mankind.
2. They really are better off they didn't get the bye because waiting around for 5 days getting your rotation set and playing at home is worse than 3 straight on the road with 1 day off
3. Cal Raleigh stirred up some trouble in Sea Town when calling out mariners management for not adding players like all the fabulous deals the arlingtons did
