He consistently doesn't give the low strike. He's been very inconsistent on the high strike and both corners. Terrible on the off the plate away stuff.

Guess what you'll NEVER get if you swing first pitch...


We're more likely to get a hit and hit with power when we swing at the first pitch. It's not uncommon for the best pitch of the AB to be the first one.


I'm gonna need to see some stats on that. We slug more on 0-0 counts than on favorable (1-0, 2-1, 3-1) counts? I mean, if so, I'll concede, but I'd think it highly unlikely.


I would assume not to but you don't always get to those counts and he couldn't get to 1-0 since pitch one was in the zone.

It's swing at pitch 1 vs not swinging at pitch 1.


Again, disregarding my point that you will NEVER (well, very rarely) get to a favorable count (where you are more likely to see and anticipate meat) if you swing first pitch.

It's just a difference in philosophies of approach. Let's drop it. Go 'stros!
