Kinda? I don't think we were super unlucky hitting. It's more about getting guys healthy and heating up. Pitching wise we were "lucky" but a lot of that luck came from Bielak, Blanco, & France. The correction really only showed up once with France & Bielak. Brown still has great expected #s compared to his actual. It's kind of hard to say.

My guess is no Yainer. Framber being the ground ball pitcher that he is, Abreu or Singleton gets 1B. Dusty already said Brantley is DHing.

As long as Chas is back and none of the regulars get a day off, it'll be a strong lineup even with Maldy and his 29 wRC+ vs RHP. Lets just hope Yainer pinch hits as soon as Framber is off the bump.

Oh its true. They're run so poorly. I think I read / heard someone say that there was major internal conflict on how to move forward. Some wanted Ohtani traded and to start the rebuild. Others refused to trade Ohtani so they had to add.

Regardless, this move is fairly smart. It saves money and helps with the draft pick. A lot of teams would have too much pride to admit defeat weeks later.

Does this become a more regular thing in the future? Do teams shed salary at the waiver deadline who were unsure at the trade deadline? Does baseball like this? Is it good for the game? At least its exciting.

The pitching matchups today really favor all three teams - the Stros, Arlingtons and Mariners. Need Framber to be Framber to keep pace....

I've got a sneaky feeling the Mets will pull one out because baseball is silly that way. Doubt the M's will lose another to Oakland. But either way, just glad we have day baseball.

Was worried about starting Framber and then having a long rain delay, but it looks like the weather is supposed to clear up right at gametime.
