Tuck and Springer are not equal in age or health when it comes to FA value. Obviously there is risk, a lot of it, but I think it's just a different situation.

Here is how Spotrac values Tucker.

I think it makes the mistake of comparing him to short stops, but it might not be too far off.




If you look at OF contracts only.

He's not Trout, Judge, or even Mookie. Those guys got 426 M, 360 M, and 365 M.

He's a step above guys like Bryant & Nimmo. They got 182 M & 162 M.

He's also older than Tatis & JRod. They got 340 M (14 years) & 209 M (12 years). Tucker will likely get higher per season due to not buying out a bunch of pre-arb and arb seasons.

26-year-old Bryce Harper got 13/330. Tucker will hit FA a little older so maybe the same eval, but fewer years? That is a 2019 comp and Tucker ain't hitting FA until 2025/6.

All this to say I don't know what it will take, but it's going to likely be a legitimate mega deal.

Was really hoping Singleton gets a start today as the matchup is favorable to him. But we will be stuck with watching Abreu go 0-4 with 2 Ks, a pop up to right field, and a GIDP.

We've seen Dubon's ceiling when he got consistent PT. He was very average.

I get angst about Diaz not starting but at least they have semblance of a bench now.

Hope is of course that Singleton can provide enough production. He had a good outcome in high pressure situation last night but of course that's just one at bat. Feels like one more good AB than Julks had had for the prior five weeks though.

Feel like we know what Kessinger can do - how about Leon?

I don't think his comment is in regards to the talent of Montgomery, but more in regards to the potential impact that Montgomery could bring to our team. On that aspect of it, I agree with Brauny.
