The "good" news is it clarifies your trade deadline plans. I'm not as concerned about a bench bat as I was a few weeks ago but at least they do know for sure the Brantley fantasy is over.

Would have been really nice to still have Yuli as a veteran bat off the bench as well as spelling Abreu, especially early in the season when he was on the struggle bus.

You could almost make a case Yuli could have been the difference in several games and we might be tied or in the lead right now. Oh well, at least we know we can't count on Uncle Mike this year.

Not sure about you, but I'm ready for this first half to be dead and buried. The Astros are in position to make a run, but it damn sure hasn't been because of lucky breaks.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Yeah, I've been told for a while that Brantley's return was pretty unlikely which is why I kept saying we should tap the brakes there. It sucks. Not sure why he just can't seem to get right.

The Altuve thing is beyond frustrating. This whole season is beyond frustrating. Just find a way to take care of business today and keep at it.

Stupid take.

To put all the blame for the injuries on the "medical staff" shows total lack of experience not only in baseball, but in sports in general.

Our sports medicine and athletic performance staff is one of the most respected in baseball. It's also the same staff that has helped us win 2 World Series and kept the franchise healthy enough to become a dynasty.

Hamate. So Trout will be out 6 weeks from the date of surgery and basically have reduced power for 6 weeks after that. In other words, the rest of the season.

Does anyone have a realistic shot at 3000 anymore?

Guys sit more and batting averages are lower. The active hits leader under age 30 is Lindor at 1240.
